Storage solutions

Finally found a solution to the problem pantry, i.e.
too deep a shelf where everything gets lost.

Pull out shelves from the Container Store.
Simple Human brand
Only 9 in wide
Comes with dividers.
About 40 bucks each.

Bought one to see if it would work. It did so bought 2 more.
Held in place now with HD velcro
I'll work on a more permanent attachment when we get home from the current trip.

Where did you find those salt and pepper shakes? I can't find anything with snap tops. Thanks

S and P were purchased on Amazon. They are Rubbermaid.

Can you put a link to that shelf? I'm looking at the website and cannot find it. I found it at bed bath and beyond, how did you mount it? I would like to stack them in my Shamrock 23SS closet.

Can't find a link. Wife just ordered them off their website.

They are currently held in place with velcro. Seem to be holding well. They have holes to use with the included screws but the shelving in the pantry is way too thin to use screws unless you reinforce the shelf with cleats or plywood.

Thank you for posting this - exactly what we'd been looking for but hadn't yet found. Ordered 3, and will be installing this week! Not sure how to add link from my phone, but if you search for "simple human 9 inch pull out" on Amazon, I think it takes you right there.

My wife & I really like this idea, so I checked out the pantry in our 2013 233S and these shelves will fit. However, the pantry shelving is very thin, it flexes easily with a little pressure. Just wondering if you added cleats or plywood to this modification for extra reinforcement? If so how are the results?

Haven't seen the need to reinforce the shelves yet. We have only used them for 1 trip so I will keep an eye on them. It wouldn't be difficult to add cleats if necessary.

We are planning to use some sort of wood bracing under the shelf to secure them - will probably get it done this weekend - so will post pics of what we end up doing & how well it worked out once we do it. :-)

Bill is halfway through putting these in, and am thrilled. He bought a length of pine furring strip, cut it into 10" lengths (2 per shelf), and used that under the shelf for support. Here are a few pics. Click image for larger version

Have really loved these pullout shelves - thanks again for the idea! The icing on the cake were some cheap motion-activated puck lights we put above each one - so every time we pull a shelf out, the lights go on. Click image for larger version

Glad the idea worked for you. The lights are a great feature also.
