Does anyone have any suggestions how to economically repair this? I contacted Forest River and they want to replace the whole wall for roughly $2000.

i own a 2007 23SS and i have no such crack.

since it's out of warranty, i would go with the factory repair.

X2. There is some structural issues there judging by the width of the crack.

That's a sizable stress crack and it's going to take a lot of work to repair it correctly. I don't think $2K is out of line for the repair with replacing the entire wall.

Two questions to ask them, will they resolve the issue so it doesn't happen again and how long are they going to stand behind their repair (warranty).

Have you had the opportunity to check the frame under the area of the crack? Would seem that there may be an underlying cause of such a crack.

Could possibly be from that stabilizing jack being over tightened.

Get the factory repair unless you want it to look like a patch job.

I have been hanging around hybrid areas of forums for a few years and this is the first time I have ever seen or heard about a crack in the sidewall of a 23SS. That does not look structural to me, What it looks like, from looking at the 3rd picture where the outer layer of the lamination is pushed outward, is something was left under the above floor slide then the the slide was extended pushing the wall under the slide opening outward.

X6 or whatever!!
$2k is a great deal.
The only other way to fix it is to remove the filon, fix whatever is causing the issue and then re-skin with new filon. Of course a lot of trim will have to be removed and most likely the slide pulled out. So that will probably be way more than $2k.
A quick fix, but not permanent would be to glue the existing filon back down and fill the gap with gelcoat paste. It wont last untill the root cause is fixed, but its better than it is now!

Upon further inspection, on pic #4, it looks like someone has tried to use silicone or something similar to cover the crack closer to the slide, at some point in time. So it looks like it has been there for a while. I would bet that there is water damage now, and possibly a stress issue with the frame or frame work in the wall that caused it to begin with.
