Do you mean raising for clearance or for taking abuse.
Those are Dexter torsion axles.

I am interested in how well the Dexter torsion axles handle dirt roads for boondocking?

Honestly... probably better than the rest of the camper.

There's only a couple inches between the tires now. Not a chance of bigger tires.

The 21SS body is very high off the ground. The axle height, though, ain't gonna change without larger diameter tires and even if they fit you'll only gain half the diameter. The brake wires on trailers typically are just zip tied across the axle and suspect to damage if the axle rubs on the road.

I recall the Dexter axles cam be set for a higher road height but the CoG on this trailer is pretty high to start with.

I'd restrict "boondocking" with any trailer not specifically designed for it to roads you'd drive your wife's BMW sedan, not your raised 4x4. Guy at the storage yard has what looks like an off-road camper -- A-frame type popup with wheels and tires larger than my Expedition's.

We boondock far off paved roads far more than we camp in campgrounds. Things jostle around on paved roads, too - surely more so on unpaved, but the campsites are so worth it. Scout out the road, take it slow & easy, and you'll be fine. We have solid clearance on our 23IKSS, and are surprised each time at how well it does.

Just hope one day you don't get another surprise while way out in the boonies.

One time while 4-wheelin' in the Colorado mountains in my old Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 I came across a sign that said:

"Beyond this point, towing fees are at $400 minimum...each 1/2 mile add $100!"...

It was 20 miles to the other end of the trail...I decided to turn around.
