Taking delivery today on a 2014 Roo 233s!!

I'm so excited and nervous!! I have my PDI this afternoon at 4 and I'll be driving it home tonight. My father-in-law & a family friend will be with me during the PDI to speed things up a bit, and the father-in-law will be riding with me while pulling to make sure everything "feels" right in the TV on the way home since I've never towed before. It'll be tricky though, winds are blowing about 18mph with gusts around 30mph. I'm thinking they'll be tailwinds coming home so it shouldn't be too bad, but I keep staring out my window at work and seeing the trees swaying back and forth and it's making me a little nervous lol. The good thing is my dealer is only about 15 miles away so it shouldn't be too long of a white-knuckled drive! Will post pics later this evening or tomorrow!

Congrats. We have the same truck and she will pull just fine. You know she is back there but the truck handles it very well.

If you don't have the extended towing mirrors I recommend getting the cipa slide ons made for the truck. They go on in under a minute and allow you to see further back.

Take is easy and you will be fine. She is a great camper...you will love it

Thanks! Good to know Shado. I'm a little worried about how my wdh will handle, but I'm thinking it'll be fine.

Just go at your own pace. Like I said, you have more wheelbase than I do and now a lighter TT. You'll be fine.

Ok here goes. PDI went well, didn't really find anything wrong with the unit except for the screen door wouldn't open from the inside. No biggie. The trailer is light. GVWR was 6402# so I knew the F150 wouldn't have a problem pulling it. Where I ran into a snag was when I was getting out my WDH & anti-sway bar.

1. I didn't realize I or the dealer would have to drill into the A-frame. For whatever reason, I thought it somehow clamped on. Timewise I wasn't prepared for this and had a friend and my father-in-law with me.

2. My anti-sway bar that my bro-in-law gave me for free was missing the piece that attaches to the trailer. I had the little ball that goes to the hitch but was missing the rear part. I notified the dealer about this, and he said one of the techs would be out to help me find the part so we can get it installed properly.

Well after 30 mins of waiting for someone to come out, I decided to just hook up to the ball and let it rip. I figured I'd be ordering an Andersen WDH anyways, so I didn't want waste any more time. We hooked up the trailer and off I went.

I took it really slow, around 45mph until I got a feel for it then slowly crept up speed. Winds were around 20mph with gusts about 35mph or something like that. It felt weird, but nothing I or the truck couldn't handle. I did feel EVERYTHING that wen by me though. Even a little hatchback honda that passed me gave the rig a bit of a shove. Not sure if this was lack of a wdh or what.

I also noticed a bit of tug of war so to speak between the TT & TV. This is probably due to tailwind, but I really could feel the TT "push" the TV & vice versa. It wasn't anything major, so I wasn't worried. I just figured it was because I didn't have wdh setup.

But everything went smoothly and I made it home and tinkered with everything all night. And now, some pics:

Just made it home, having a cold one with our friend and father-in-law. I forgot to take pics with it hooked up:

Parked and somewhat opened up:

Yea I'm still up in the air about the WDH. You don't have to drill the Andersen either, but the Equalizer is a tried and true method that's been around for awhile. As I understand it, the Andersen is new(ish) so I'm not sure which one I should get. I like the fact that the Andersen fits in a small box and only weighs about 60lbs though.

FWIW - I've found that even little cars passing me in the left can "push" my TT/TV setup. I find it isn't the size of what's passing me, but more so how close the passing vehicle is to me. Clearly, if it's a big vehicle AND close to me, well then......

Thanks all. I just need to properly hook up a wdh and go out and drive it around to get used to it. Planning on doing a short weekend trip in 2 wks and my daughter is def. excited! Looking forward to doing a few mods to the unit and learning more and more.

Congrats !! Looks like she's having a blast already. I can't keep my 3 kids out of it and they always want to sleep in it while it's in the driveway.

Yes I'm finding this out very quickly. My daughter wanted to go in it first thing this morning and stepson wanted to do his homework in it tonight lol.
