Tent End Repair

Setting up for the first outing of the year I found this wonderful hole. The vinyl pulled off of the mesh backing when I opened the bunk. It appears (second photo) to have stuck to the caulking that is used to attach the tent to the camper shell. Brilliant engineering!

Fortunately I had repair tape with me. Rain is forecast for tonight and tomorrow to test the repair. I used that tape to fix a tractor seat and it's still good after 4 years.

I'm very glad for all of you who never had problems with the fabric! My 21SS, a 2014, small leaks at the seams. Yes, I seasoned the seams. The tent ends were replaced under warranty and the new ones actually seem to weep through the fabric in some spots.

Previously I had a Coleman Utah. I can't remember the name of the cloth they used for the tent ends but that stuff held up very well and never leaked.Click image for larger version
