Two bunk end leaks in Florida storm

Had heavy rain last night and was disappointed to learn we had two leaks (camper is only 4 months old). It appears to have come from one of the seams... Is this normal? Anyone know of this would be covered under warranty?

It got pretty wet - it was a significant storm, however

Did you season the seams on the bunk ends? I thought I did a thorough job of seasoning last fall when we purchased, then this spring had some leakage in the vertical end seams the first time out in a downpour. After that we've had no leakage anywhere during two rainstorms.

Yikes- no did not season (didn't get the memo this was needed). How do you season the tent ends?

They need to be hosed down a couple of times, supposed to swell the threads in the sewing holes of the material. There should have been a small card in your info packet about it. We've had no leaks at all since the downpour when it did leak. Quite a bit of info in the forums about it. There's a sticky with a photo of the info card.
Hopefully there will be no more leaks from now on.

I have cleaned the camper ends (using a hose) and the camper has been in several rain storms in Florida ... Would that pretty much be the same as seasoning? I don't think the inside seams should look like this after 4 months? ... Click image for larger version

You may want to get that into the dealer for warranty. The one photo looks like the corner needle holes at the vertical seams are larger than they should be.

In the photo it also looks like you might be forcing the tenting more than is should be. The sheperds staff has 3 clips to go into, I only use the 2cnd one as the third is way too much stress on the seams.
