What is this

I bought a Roo SS21 and this is above the entrance to each bed. It has wires to it. Looks like a headphone jack but it is in an odd place. Any help?

The portable fan/light goes there. Should be one over each bed. They're 12vDC, don't plug your audio headset into them.

Did you get the fans with the trailer? (Looks like the radio in my '06 Roo 23SS.)

The outlet is for a fan/light that snaps onto the shepherds pole in the bunk. Looks like this (shown upside down):

Here's one on Amazon:

With respect to the fans, we used them "a little. " We only had our hybrid for 3 seasons and most of our camping then was in the fall. I don't recall even using our AC in the Roo.

Now the Mini-Lite, we've been out a lot more, and farther south so the AC gets used.

But you can open up your hybrid and get air flow when us solid-siders would be running the AC.

Used them more for the light.

Useful for light and moving air in the bunks.

If you don't know about condensation yet on the tent ends, I will attempt to explain. Since the vinyl covering you has zero insulation value, on a cooler, say 55, or 50 degree or less night your exhaled breath containing water vapor will rise and most likely condense on the top vinyl of the tent end. I often get "rained" on when turning over in the bed. This only gets worse when you "button-up" the trailer on a cold evening, as the moisture has no way to escape.

I usually open the top vent(s) in the trailer and start up the bunk end fan to move the air around and keep it from condensing on the tent over my head. Also serves as a source of white-noise to help you sleep! Some may ask how to keep warm? My electric cube heater does a fine job of heating the interior and the electric-heated bunk mattresses keep me cozy warm even in cold weather.

We use the fan/lights every time we camp. Never had condensation to the extent Rsdata describes but the fan will equalize temps in the bunks and cabins assisting the furnace or AC depending on the season as he describes. When dry camping without AC power they will create a breeze on hot nights.
