Which amp service?

We have just purchased a 2006 Roo 23B and the owners manual doesn't say what amp service it is equipped with...30 or 50? We don't have the trailer yet, but want to order a converter so we can go camping next weekend! Anyone know where to find that info? TIA

That RV has 30 amp service.

What is the "Converter" are you thinking about ordering?

The RV will come with a converter that powers the 12 volt stuff from shore power and recharges the battery.

Most likely a RV that small will be 30 amp. Not sure I follow what you mean by a "order a converter". Does it not already have a functional converter.

Do you mean adapter?

Yes, all Roos are 30 amp.
Why are you ordering a converter? Does the Roo have a bad converter?
Or do you mean an ADAPTER?

My bad...hubby corrected me...apparently it's called a dogbone? LOL
We booked a 50 amp site and will need this dogbone to adapt it to a 30 amp service.
Thank you for the info!!!

There are many campgrounds that offer 50 amp but usually have 30 amp outlets as well. Still good to be prepared.

Every Walmart I've ever been in carries those dogbone adapters. They usually have a couple different brands.

Also available a bazillion places online.
Here is one...

That's my experience, never needed a dogbone adapter at any 50 amp site. They all had a 30 amp outlet also.
I here a few experiences where it was only 50 amp but I believe that a rare occurrence.

The problem I find is that there are many more 30 amp pedestal outlets that are defective than 50 amp outlets. That's why I carry the dogbone.

You may also want to consider a 15 AMP to 30 AMP plug or dogbone... for those times when you only have a standard 15 AMP plug to use, such as at your home.

Good Advice.

In 8 Years of camping I've used the 50 amp to 30 amp twice (due to the 30 amp plug not working properly) but the 30 amp to the standard household plug daily when we are home to keep the batteries charged and on occasion when we were at a friends property to plug in so we didn't have to fire up the genny.

Pretty much most of our local CG's, the sites are "either" 30A or 50A...not both on the same site. Not at all rare in my area.

Never found a "50amp" site that didn't have 30a and 20a as well. Pretty standard pedestal setup.

I have used an 50a-to-30a adapter maybe one (1) time when the 30a outlet was burned. Reason enough to carry one. They're very inexpensive on Amazon or Walmart (vs your dealer!).

The nice thing about using a 50 to 30 dogbone adaptor for a 30 Amp camper is that theoretically you have more current available. The 50 Amp receptacle has 50 amps to each hot leg. That one 50 Amp leg will be supplying current to the 30 Amp end of the dogbone.
The 30 Amp receptacle on the pedestal will only be supplying 30.

I carry adapters to go from about anything TO anything. New rig is 50 amp so have 50/30 and 30/20 as well as reverse so can use various extension cords. Found it to work well for me.

The only place you'd have 50 amps available would be in your shore power cord and into the power distribution box. From there on, the main 30a breaker in your power distribution box would limit any draw to 30a. Nothing more.
