Wobbly fold down dinette on Roo 233S

Does anyone else think that the folding dinette table provided with the Roo 233S is WAYYYY too unstable? Any ideas on how to fix what to replace it with?

Our 23ss is the same when we went to pick it up last summer and we did not like it so we went to trade it for one in a Rockwood 5th wheeler and it was the same so in short all of them are that way

Not sure if you have a wall that the table is against on your 233S, but on my 17 the table is against a wall so I took some self adhesive Velcro and stuck one side on the wall and the other on the edge of the table. Now when I set up my table it sticks to the Velcro and no longer woobles.

we have the 233s as well and yep, that table is horrible. One of the welds broke on it already so need to find someone that can fix it.

When we had our Roo at the dealer for some warranty items we mentioned this issue as well. Turns out they had a guy in service department who specializes in this since they get a lot complaints. I think all he did was add some additional screws in a couple spots - but it didn't cost us anything and it made the table better - not rock solid but much better than it was.

KMP44 - Some pictures would be helpful. I think your table is similar to the table I have in my 27RLWS and it the wobbles something fierce. I use a portable brace between the floor and the table edge.

In the older models they used posts with pedestals to support the dinettes. I'm not sure if the floor in these ultra lights will allow for this retrofit but I've got a couple of posts from another project and I would like to give it a try. Has anyone used these pedestal posts in newer Roo's? The table in my Roo 17 is OK but it's still new and doubt that it will go the distance.

kerrun if you hove a 2016 21ss it has the same table as a 23ss and it has got to wobble or rock some I just don't believe its a solid as a rock for we wanted to trade our table at the dealer and all of them rocked. Please post a pic of what you have for us to see so we can all get one

Our 351THSS toyhauler had what I can only imagine is the same table. It was miserable, wife and I had to site opposite each other and keep equal weight on it to keep drinks upright. Last trip to the dealer I complained about it hoping for a resolve, as the 2016 units in the same model went back to 3 legs. FR provided the legs and I paid the labor. The table is actually usable now without fear. The dealer had to push on them a bit from what I understand, initially they were told "that's how it is" and "people either love or hate it". I told the dealer to tell FR to check the internet, everyone hates it because its a horrible design.

We had the wobbly scissor folding table also on our Roo183. We converted it to a pedestal table. Most Rv dealers carry the sockets and posts. Very easy mod and is much more stable and has lots more leg room. And there is also enough room under it when its down to use for travel stowage.

The reason most manufacturers quit using the posts / sockets is because of the laminated floor assembly. the floor is 5/16" plywood / 1- 1/2" beaded foam and square tube / 1/8" luan laminated together. The pole sockets rock back and forth when using the table even though you do not "feel it". Eventually it will pull the 5/16" plywood loose from the foam in the assembly. Then you not only have a wobbly table, but also a soft spot in the floor. Go and look at older laminated trailers on the used lots and you'll find plenty where the floor has movement where the pole socket is ,or you'll find the screw holes in the vinyl where the floor socket was removed and a free standing table replaced it.

I think your right concerning the floor strength, but I was wondering if I were to open the area up a bit, and add some fiberglass mat and resin if I could produce a long standing stable table. Since I have the posts from another project I might give it a try next winter when I'm bored.
