Please post a link where FR says that rig is a 1/2 ton towable.
(I'm not doubting you I just gotta see it for myself!)

That thing is pushing the limit of my 3/4 ton once passengers and cargo are factored in.

Wildcat Maxx Fifth Wheels / Travel Trailers by Forest River RV

Click "Floorplans" and see that they are listed as "Half-Ton Fifth Wheels" and "Half-Ton Travel Trailers."

The brochure also calls them "Half-Ton" models but nowhere does it specifically say "Half-Ton towable." What other reason could they possibly have for putting "Half-Ton" in there, though?

The worst part is dealers that will latch onto this and start telling everyone with a half-ton truck that they can pull these trailers "no problem."

They already are. quick google search turns up quite a few videos showing them saying they are 1/2 ton towable.

Admins, feel free to remove the link if calling out this specific dealer is not allowed.

After 5 years with only 5000 pounds behind now the truck is saying this is enough.
It is a Ram 😂

Maybe they are talking about the one and only 1/2-ton that pulled the space shuttle?

Might that be the only one?

I have a 6500 lb trailer without loaded. My half ton Ram 1500 with 5.7 liter sucks at towing it. Too much weight for a city boy truck. I would go for a duallywith disel if i had to do over.

I wouldn't think of towing with a 1/2 ton. The only half ton that might is the F150 HDPP. I think that would most likely be a 2 wheel drive with the XL, XLT or the Lariat with limited options. Personally I would move up to a 1 ton and skip the 3/4.

Almost the same setup as my fifth wheel. I agree with Stovebolt. I went with the one ton and never looked back. I never want to be under powered or light weight towing that kind of weight. 2017 FR Silverback 29IK

Common guys, I’d tow it with a half ton. It says half ton towable right there on the internet! And you know that if it’s on the internet it has to be true!

It will work. You just have to use premium gas in your half ton ecoturbo thingamajig. And add a flux capacitor.

As far as the topic. Maybe that's the downhill specs.

Maybe it is 1/2-tonable only for photographic purposes only!

Maybe we have it backwards. Maybe that thing drags half ton trucks around.

I think it would be more like pushing it around.
