In your opinion, who builds the best travel trailers (other than Airstream). We may be in market in the near future for a 21-23 footer.

If you went to an Airstream owners forum, you'd see that Airstream have issues also, especially since Thor Industries bought them out.
There is no perfect RV brand.
Even Arctic Fox and other Northwoods Manufacturing brands have gone down in quality.
I would look for a manufacturer with a good customer service and warranty support reputation.

I always had good luck dealing with Grand Design and Keystone always helped there customers. A great dealer is important also.

All brands have issues. The best thing for you to do is google search "PDI" (Pre Delivery Inspection). You will find quite a few. Pick the on you like the best and print it out when you go shopping and use it again before taking delivery. You might even want to combine a few PDI's. Be sure to follow and check off each item with pen or pencil. You won't be sorry for the extra effort.

All things being equal. The more important issue is your Dealer!!!!!!!!! And the manufacturer customer service and warranty! Build quality is a hit and miss target :-)
How willing are they to fix any issues??

Forrest River customer support and warranty support is not impressing me in the least.

Do your research

Quality

Currently, they all are building them soo fast to supply demand and many of the traditional high quality makes have bought out. It may be luck of the draw. I would say Grand Design prior to 2018 when Winnabago bought them out or Northwoods. These are the two that always seem to have better finish details.

We have a 2019 GDRV and are pretty happy with build quality. Yeah, it had some initial issues, but they were more part supplier issue than build quality.

In November 2018 we bought a Forest River Cherokee 274vfk. We've had a few very minor problems that I fixed myself, otherwise, the trailer has been perfect. I've been very impressed with the build quality and we love the travel trailer. We also toured the factory and I noticed that most of the work was being performed by Amish craftsmen.
