Body repair to front cap

Hi. Last weekend I backed a small utility trailer into the corner of my Crusader 295rst.
I have a small ding in the gel coat about the size of a golf ball less than 1/4" deep. I can see fiberglass, but the fiber is in tact. A second scratch is maybe 4" long and not through the gel.

Looking for advice on the repair. Since the fiberglass is intact, I was thinking
1)a simple Bondo (with or without fibers?) patch after a scuff sanding out a couple of inches,
2) sand the bondo to final blend,
3) match the paint via primetime's paint code and
4) feather in a clear coat.

Looks like the original design is gel coat. Getting a color match to that would be difficult.

Any thoughts or suggestions welcomed. Would patching this tiny are with gel coat be better?
