As sirtate said (Post #6), an extended warranty is an insurance policy.

The REAL purpose of an insurance policy is to cover a catastrophic event that you would be unable to recover from. Examples being: home burns down, vehicle accident that injures someone, etc. It's not really expected to fix something like a broken water heater. That's how they make their money. Most people never use it, some people might get a small return on their $$, VERY few ever break even or better.

We have purchased a Cornerstone on our last 2 fivers. Paid $1200 for a 2 year in 2013, and recently got a 3 year ultimate on our new-to-us fiver for $3600.

Cornerstone does not cover any structural stuff. No roof leaks, no gasket or slide leaks. No batteries or interior fixtures.

What it does cover, is every mechanical, plumbing, and electronic item. From tanks to generator, to TVs and hydraulics. Even suspension items. They lost money on us on the first warranty, and they have covered over $5000 in repairs in the first year of our 3 year coverage. You can stack minor repairs as it’s one deductible per visit no matter how big the list is.

This warranty has saved our vacation budget more than once obviously. They are accepted at every shop we have ever used (even mobile service is covered). I have nothing but good things to say about our experience. But I did read the contract carefully, not too hard as it’s only 2 pages or so, and that’s likely why we are satisfied. All the complaints I have read seem like the people had unrealistic expectations of the warranty. We will definitely buy a Cornerstone again.
