First fifth wheel

We are converting to our first fifth wheel from a 32 foot travel trailer anything we should know besides the hitch is different and obviously differences in weight? Here's a photo of the new 5th wheel

Nice. It sits higher so watch gas station clearances. It will track farther out when turning meaning it's easier to hit curbs. Enjoy.

Nice and congrats. Like mentioned it is higher and will cut corners on you. Backing is a little different but you will probably adjust quickly. Just give that some time and practice.

Congratulations on the Creek and welcome to the forums from SW Idaho.

It will turn quick on you so slow and easy is suggested.

Hang a bandana over the rearview mirror, nose cap is gonna look REAL close...

Congrats! Once you go to 5th wheel, you will never go back.
Love those frameless Windows.
It will tow better and it will feel lighter even though it's heavier (excluding hills where you will always feel the weight)
Backing in is different, but you will find it to be easier. Always remember you are much taller now.

Another thing to watch for is business signs, like fast food ones. I was about 12" from learning that the hard way, twice, on our maiden voyage.

Do a test pull when hooking up before raising the front jacks. Some of the hitches sold are pure junk the way the work.

Fifth wheels are harder on marriages in my experience. My DW wants to divorce me each time we try to back it up into our storage spot.

I am new to 5th wheelers also. Backing up is different. Towing is easier. Setting up is about the same amount of effort.

Congrats on the 5th Wheel! Great timing for this post, as I am seriously thinking about moving to a 5th Wheel myself! I'm sure there are a lot more things to consider than the height and turning corners as far as advise. This is a great forum and I'm sure they'll be more info as the day goes on.
