If you take out the assumption he made that this forum was sponsored by Forest River, the OP contains some very valid criticisms that many of us have shared over the years..... My first stop has always been with the dealer and many of my questions were answered with a simple phone call. The frustration arises when the dealer's response is less than optimal and you go looking for places at Forest River to direct your questions. I have seen a corporate directory on here for a couple of the brands, but you won't find any such thing on the corporate website - that IS a disconnect that is an easy fix.....if they wanted end users to have that info

Again, the original post contains some salient points, so why all the "snarky" comments?

Preaching to the choir. WE know FR company is difficult to contact-
that's why so many here preach to get a good dealer.
Lowest price is not always the best deal if your dealer is absent when
you have problems.

Some of us are thin skinned because folks so often come here to
rant about poor quality.
WE can't help with that other than to suggest solutions to specific
problems.

IF you had a chevy and it was giving you problems what good would it
do to complain to other chevy owners?
Go to a chevy DEALER and complain.
If the above is being snarky I'm sorry.

As mentioned the quality won't improve until they feel the pinch from
foreign competition. I donno why they don't import trailers like they
do cars except size would demand huge shipping cost.

Good Initial post madmaxmutt, valid observations. Like I would tell my students kill the attitude and submit. Goes a long way to resolution. Your opinion like mine are valid, just need to respect the other point of view.

Sorry, that wasn't a response to you. No, we are directed to the dealers, but there seem to be none (Surveyor) within 80 miles. I was then directed to other FR dealers in the area. The two I went to, both told me to use the forums. And, since being on here that theme has been repeated. And, yes you should take that part as a feather in your cap, but the manufacturer/brands should not.

i'm have been a member of other RV forums, for quite a few years, that are NOT brand specific and unfortunately, issues that you describe above and with QC, are an industry-wide issue, not just a FR issue.

if you read through some of the threads like i have, over the years, you'll see the same kind of complaints and issues with every brand, even the high end ones.

changes are needed throughout the Industry and that's a difficult thing to change. look what it took to change the American auto industry. it took companies from outside the country, to challenge and outdo what our auto companies were producing.
Great thoughts and we might do that in the future. We haven't had the trailer that long and planned our summer as soon as it was ours. I had never heard of Goshen at that time or ever until a couple of weeks ago.

We did look at owner ratings prior to purchase, but did not know of this site then. The owner ratings for Surveyor were higher than the other two we looked at the time.

I agree with much of what you said. I hate to see people give up on getting good service. The owner could take a Chevy to any other GM dealer. That is a little harder to do with the trailer and they (Surveyor) don't appear to have any local representation in this city of 250K+.

If what you say is accurate then put all your suggestions in a word document and send it to Forest River direct. Use regular mail. Make a request to have someone reply to you directly. When they do, report it back here.

X Eleventy, hallelujah and AMEN!

I've twice typed out essentially what you just intimated, but kept havin' to sit on Weezer's hands. I couldn't get it as "unsnarky" as you did so I deleted it before posting. /snark

The OP has gotten lots of feedback on other questions he's had, and to me, it seems that "just ain't good enough" and he's even snarked back at some who were giving suggestions/advice. (shrug...YMMV)

FTR...didn't find any pinholes.

Who said what first part? I highlighted the comment I was asking about( YOUR words) about being sent to this forum.

Ha, just part of the inherent frustration. If there was a Forest River POC listed on their website, I sure would. I figure since they point all of their traffic here, they must look at it sometime. But, based on their other internet action, probably not. . . I would send it to Warren buffet, if I had his email. I will paraphrase something about he said about not telling the company leader how to run a company, but maybe he should.

I also have read many other posts that may be close to as (or more) frustrated with the company as I am.

How is it irrelevant, if the original complaint was not having contact information and/or support from Forest River?

And BTW, if you're bored, or just curious, try searching Airstream dissatisfaction. It's a real eye opener. There are even a few negative comments on this forum about Airstream regarding fit and finish, things found during PDI, things breaking so soon after taking delivery, etc.

Yep, I know that doesn't help someone who didn't buy (and certainly didn't pay the price for) an Airstream. I'm just sayin'.

Ummm, look above my post you just responded to. The person *I* was responding to is quoted right above it, or it certainly is on my laptop.

YMMV

That is partially true. I got the question asking to back up facts. I understood you had taken the paraphrase as he was saying all of that, when part of it was me saying it.
