Hauling a canoe??
Any one haul a canoe with them. Looking for suggestions other than TV. We have a Salem 28ddss. Yes I can get ladder racks for my truck. Any way to do it on TT.

Have no clue. All rubber and no ladder on TT. This unit is 11 ft tall so prob. Not a good idea to make it any higher.

I'm sorry I did`t get a picture, but a few weeks ago I saw a 5th wheel rig with 2 kayaks strapped to the bottom of the camper.

That's my thought. I will investigate the clearance maybe my only option.

Two concerns that I noticed; anchor points for straps and the inability to traverse uneven ground because of the limited clearance.

I think the TV is the best option if you have a full cab. We have a Honda Rideline and just put the racks on the cab with straps on the bar and tie downs front and back for safety. We have hauled our 16' canoe and 2 16' kayaks on a Thule rack. It has worked well for us and lets us get the boats to the water once we are unhooked. Now that we have moved to th class A, the boats will need to go on the toad.
I suggetsed and inflarable as mentioned, but my wife would rather have HER kayak.

We had 30 ft class A and set up mounts for kayaks on top, carried them all over but found that we didn't use them much because of the hassle of getting them off. Then got a light kayak trailer, light enough that I can lift it when empty, and find that we use the kayaks all the time because its so easy to mount and take loose

I've seen several set-ups for 5'ers that have a front bumper rack, and a canoe or kayak running from the front bumper to the truck roof.

I am still trying to get a mental image here..... UNDER the RV??? I almost want to go outside and look...... I dislike renting them.... I like mine!! but UNDER??? We just bought a small utility trailer for both the yaks and scooters!

I also hall kayaks around, the big 14' double goes ontop of the TV and a small kids 7' goes on the TT's bed for long haul. I love being able to hall both kayaks to any location with the TV(7' slides inside our Yukon). We have been able to get to some very beautiful out of the way places many will never see.
I did build a small dolly for the 14' kayak that allows me to walk it into the water with gear and even the smaller Kayak on top. Many of these dollies are on the web, I just had some tubing and tires laying around, I would recomend one.
The other day I watch a nieghbor put a 14' kayak in their TT by using the area of a pop-out to pivit it in.
Toys are fun but just bring more work.

Yep, under the 5th Wheel. They were mounted beneath the holding tanks. They weren't canoes, but kayaks, which are a lower profile than a canoe.

QUICK TIP
Be careful storing things on a roof ladder
If your RV is equipped with a roof access ladder it's always a temptation to use it to store extra stuff on. Not a bad idea, just make sure that whatever you hang on the ladder doesn't obstruct your tail lights. Drivers behind you can unwittingly get a bit too close if they don't see your intentions clearly signaled.
