Is there a Luxury FW under 30'

We've seen lots of nice FW's but the upper end models are so long. We like to stay in state parks, but 40' units don't fit. We are looking for something with lots of basement storage (drop frame!), a King Bed, rear living area, top-end finish and accessories, and under 30' floor length. Use would be extended weekends and two 2-3 month road trips per year.

There are so many makers and models, and so many model years that it makes research pretty tough. The closest FW to meet those needs is the Montana 3120 RL, but still a little longer than what we would like.

Any suggestions? Any custom builders?

Thanks!

You might look at the newer Rockwood 5th wheel models that they advertise as 1/2 ton towable. I'm not positive but believe one is the 2622? During a layover on our way to Yuma we noticed a brand new one and that is why we ended up with a new 5th...

Rockwood is a mid level trailer, certainly not a luxury trailer, like Riverstone, Landmark or Redwood.

its a foot longer than you were loking for, and limited to dealer stock or used, but there is the Grans Designs reflection 29rs, but no king bed...

there is also the majority of the reflections 150 series, but again no king....

We are in the same situation. My wife and I would like to upgrade to a 5'er but want to stay small. There are only a handful of shorter models out there and, in our opinions, all of them have such lousy floor plans that they are non-starters for us.

There is a quality custom builder in Missouri. Trailer Life Magazine did an article on them 10-12 years ago. They are still in business and as soon as I win the lottery I am on a plane to Kansas City.

Manufacturers listening?

Appreciate the suggestions. The King bed is a dealmaker.

Hey FW manufacturers, had any thoughts on this niche?

nice concept. shortest current model is 36'.

Maybe buy a gooseneck cargo trailer and convert it, but that would mean no slides.

IMHO, there's no market for it. Probably 99.9% of those who are looking for a luxury 5th wheel, want bigger, not smaller.
Otherwise some RV manufacturer would have made one.

Plenty of manufacturers make 5th wheels <30 feet. You just have to look. I have a 29' Arctic Fox made by Northwest RV in Oregon. Nicely built rig and so far much more reliable than my old Cardinal.

An Arctic Fox 5th wheel might be as luxurious as an under 30ft 5th wheel can get. It at least will be solid.

Most 5vers I've seen....and we did a 3 year search years back. Size IS part of the "Luxury" Doesn't seem too Luxurious to be cramped into a 26' box.

Although it would be nice to have more than the 17.5' box I have, it has every feature you could possibly want, I consider that luxury! I know Airstream makes quite luxurious trailers in same size, but I can buy 2.5 of my trailers for one of theirs.

Kris, i don't consider Airstreams as "luxurious". They are very nice European minimalist, like IKEA's version of a travel trailer. Tiny round sinks for example.
We also want a 5th wheel no longer than 30ft but we know that we'll have to accept that there's no such thing as a luxury model in that size.

I never really inspected the Airstreams closely to determine why they are exponentially more expensive that FR offerings. I figured, it was 'luxury'!

Not by American standards.
The pricepoint is more related to the Airstream name and cool factor.
Since Thor Industries bought them out years ago, the quality has suffered a lot. But Thor keeps the price up to attract the more affluent buyer.
