Labor Day camping?

I know that some people will avoid the holiday traffic but let's hear from those with holiday camping plans.

I'm already in count-down mode before I can hit the road next Friday morning. I need to pick up my trailer from the service department but the best part is that they will hitch me up which will save me a good hour. I know how to do it but lack the strenght for handling the receiver and HD bars.

This will be my first time using my new truck to tow with so I'm looking forward to this. I am going back to San Clemente State Beach (Southern CA). I've been there many times because I love the water, hookups and pull through sites.

Just checked the forum while taking a short break from prepping the trailer. We leave Thursday 9/1!

Normally we don't fight the holiday crowds for a camping spot, but our church has a camp over Labor Day weekend, so we don't have to worry about finding a spot. It is kind of the last hooray for summer, although summer (temps below 100*) doesn't really end here in Phoenix until about Nov. 1. Then it is 1 month of fall, 2 days of winter, 1 month of spring and then back into summer.

Have a great Labor Day everyone!

Retirement is great. I get to take off Tues A.M. for our campground up be Lockport NY this Labor Day weekend. The DW (who still has to work HA HA) will join me Thurs evening. This works great on several fronts. 1) I get to the campground early and have a better chance of getting the site we want. 2) I get to set-up at my pace not having "Honey could you come here and help me/check this etc. It's just me and the dog.

We will probably boondock it somewhere near the Arctic Circle. Hunting season opens here Sep 1st, so there will be hunters everywhere. Heading to Valdez after work today to fish for Silver Salmon (coho to some of you)

We have a private campground that had room for us about 30 minutes from home, and we don't even have to get on I-75!! Leave home at 6pm on Friday, by 7pm I will have the bottle of wine open.

We're leaving on the 2nd for Utah so the weekend will be spent on the road. We do have reservations at Rifle Gap State Park in Colorado beginning on Labor Day for 2 nights.

Have a campground booked about 30 minutes off the Las Vegas strip @ 8k feet. Should be about 80 all weekend there!

You guys have to post some pics of your trips when you get back. My wife has to work Labor Day weekend, so no camping for us.
Funny thing is, she always enjoys camping holiday weekends. She loves people watching. Especially the kids playing.
But she usually works the summer holidays so she can be off around Christmas????
We'll be camping the weekend after.

&

Everyone be safe!!!

Great pic Triguy.

Just got back from Cape Cod this afternoon. If the good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise (because of the storm) we will be at the beach here in Ct on Friday. We love the people on holiday weekends, they are so much fun to watch. 
