New member 1st post.

Hello everyone. This is my first post here. Me and my wife are about to pull the trigger and purchase a brand new '08 Rockwood 8265S. We found a dealer who got within $600 of RV Wholesalers price plus shipping and I think it's worth that to buy from a local dealer. My tow vehicle is a '06 Chevy Silverado Ext Cab with the 5.3 V8 and tow pkg. I know this trailer pretty much max's out the truck but we never tow with any fluids in the holding tanks and don't pack a lot of stuff when we camp. Plus we don't plan to go through the Rockies with it. I wanted another 5th wheel because that's what we just sold and I already have the hitch set-up even though our previous 5th wheel was a lot smaller and lighter.

One question? I noticed while shopping for a camper that some of the '08 Rockwoods have different fender skirts. I like the new style a lot better and that is what's on the 8265S that we are looking at. Does Forest River change things like this in mid year production?

Welcome to the FRF. Glad you found us and hope you enjoy the group. Fine folks here.

I think all manufacturers make changes in their products throughout the model year. They come up with a new idea and implement it quickly rather than waiting until the next model year.

Congratulations on your new rig. It's like anything you buy. The next month there is something new out there you like better, well that stands for me anyway. It keeps us working and in debit.

Send some pics our way.....love looking at new units.

Hi and welcome... boy we are seeing a lot of new members lately and that is fantastic!

Here's what I'd do. Take a digital pic of the unit clearly showing the fender skirt you like. Then two choices: 1) contact the Rockwood rep (his email is in another recent thread - attach the pic and ask him how you can ensure the unit you order has that skirt. or 2) Give the pic to the dealer when you're ready to order and specify that you want that skirt. If he's not sure, ask him to contact the FR rep to ensure it's possible. either way, have the pic enclosed with the order along with any information you get from the rep.
