No TT Yet

Hello there,
My wife and I are set to purchase our first TT this spring (2007). We have settled on the Flagstaff 831FKSS. Would like to hear all opinions, good bad, or indifferent. Will be glad to post on it, when I get it. we are waiting for the Kansas City RV show in March.

Hi renegaderailfan,

Flagstaff 831FKSS, Rockwood 8315SS. Same trailer, different exterior decals.

We purchased our 8315SS this past Apr. Great floorplan. Tows well(with Equal-i-zer brand hitch). Wife loves all the cabinet space in kitchen. Large center bathroom is big enough for both of us to move around in. DVD theater surround sound for those rainy days when inside. Lots of room in den area. Could live in for extended amount of time if need be. It being a front kitchen, it's a bit heavier on the tongue than I'de like but does not effect towing with '06 Chevy Z-71 CC. Anything else in specific you need. let me know. Will post pics later.

thanks for the welcome, and thanks for making these forums. I have had a terrible time finding info on the Forest River products, and that website of theirs doesn't help. milzat, is that chevy a 1/2 ton? We will be pulling with our 04 F-150 supercab, with tow package. 5.8 triton, 3.73 rear end I believe. just the wife and I, and our 100 lb black lab. My dealer where I have went and looked at this unit, recommends and installs the Equalizer hitch, and from my research, I will be getting the Prodigy brake controller. I'm sure I will have many questions, and look forward to March, it seems so far away!!

renegaderailfan,

Yes, the Z-71 is a heavy 1/2 ton, (like the older 3/4 ton trucks) 4X4 Crew Cab. Have no problem towing and stopping. The Equal-i-zer hitch(with 1200/12,000 spring bars) is a great product and Prodigy brake control is a must have for total control.
We watch how we load the trailer. Put very light items in the small front storage compartment. The rest goes in the rear pass-through compartment.

Welcome to the site. I can't comment directly on the Flagstaff, but in my experiance Forest River makes good solid trailers in all their lines.
Cheers

We have a Flagstaff 26RKS and have been very pleased with the quality of it and have had no problems of any significance except the air conditioner, which went bad and was replaced under warranty. We have the white interior and stainless refrigerator.

Good chioce on the trailer. We were impressed with the fit and finish.
Seems to have a problematic Stereo system - Concertone. Volume level of 1 is way to loud on radio. I have to turn off the main cabin speakers and turn on the ones in the bedroom. Like the LCD TV though.

Owners manual sucks, and Forest River seems to be tough bunch to get in touch with, but the trailer is great.

Thanks for all the info, Hey Newfie, I also have an F-150. It's a 2004 supercab, with tow package. I see that Milzat tows with his 1/2 ton, how does yours handle? What type of hitch are you using?
