Question Operate ac with cover on rv?

Even when new it appears that RV covers (travel trailer in our case) aren't made of high strength fabric. We keep our 22' TT covered when not using and it would sure be nice if I could operate the AC when doing some maintenance or mods without having to R & R the cover. While I suspect that the AC fan may shred the cover...or, the restriction may be harmful to the AC itself, I'm just wondering if anyone has actually tried (or had some success) running the AC with a cover in place?

Do not do that your AC needs air to circulate to keep the head pressures within reason you may ruin your unit doing that. Why not carefully mark the cover where it goes over the AC unit then cut out that area hem the opening place velcro strips to hold it in place problem solved Rig is covered AC can be run.

NO.
You can not run the A/C with the cover in place.

I did see a R/V cover one time that the part that covered the A/C zipped off.
Even then condensate from the A/C would run under the cover and be wet.

You could always just buy a portable ac for when you are working on it.

Ac with cover on...

Thought provoking (and, confirming) replies on this -- much appreciated! Incidentally, t's a HOA issue that keeps me from just building a nice "shelter" for the RV -- the applicable rules are written so that a fully enclosed building with foundation to "match" the home is the minimum...however, just sitting in the driveway with a cover is OK . In any event, I can still crawl up and pull the cover partially off to run the AC, but it's a hassle. Oh well...a minor problem compared to many/most! Thanks, again, for sharing thoughts and ideas!
