Squeaky Faucets

I have a 2007 Surveyor and our faucets squeak! It is only the hot water faucets but both sinks and the tub all join in the chorus. It is driving DW crazy and that gets my attention. Any thoughts other than replacement?

I think these are fairly cheap units and that may be the problem. I have added this as item number 18 on my list of things wrong with my trailer (list can be shared if interested) and it is not even a year old yet!

I think that "cheap" and "plastic" may be the answer. We have the same problem with the kitchen sink faucets in our Flagstaff. Drives you nuts, doesn't it? At least they don't leak.

Candle wax or pariffin wax; It's just plastic on plastic squeeking and a thin rub of the surfaces with wax every once in a while should solve it, and safely. By the way, I'd take it off your list... you won't find a manufacturer at this price range with anything but those damn camper faucets.

I wouldn’t consider a squeak to be a serious problem.
Then again, it depends on how much it is bothering the DW.

At least your handles stay attached to the fixture.

One of mine didn’t...
BOOM, one of the kitchen faucet handles blows off, spraying anti-freeze all over the place, made quite a mess by the time I got water turned off.

Perhaps I'm being Picky...

Right! Squeaky faucets are not the worst item on the list but along with everything else it they are annoying. I get some relief using lithium lubricant that another site recommended. I am willing to invest in a better faucet but it sounds like there may not be such a thing.

We have arrived home in Tucson after about 6000 miles around the northwest and decided we needed a different trailer. After a week of searching (real and virtual) we have about decided it is best to do a bit of rebuilding on the Surveyor (I have already done quite a bit already - I think these units should be marked "some assembly required"). I can't imagine what someone without some decent skills and a modest home workshop would do.
