My wife is hounding me about finding a new TT/5th with a bunk house for the kids since my current TT has only a king bed. I have a 2016 Rockwood Signature Ultralight. The floor started deteriorating year one and has gotten worse over the years. I’m like a ballerina trying to navigate from my bathroom to the closet without stepping between a cross beam. Does anyone know if Forest River fixed the soft floor issue or should I cross them off the list of potential candidates?

Well, I don't know that it's an "issue". There are probably some cases out there, but to call it an issue, I don't know. I've certainly not read countless posts of soft floors. Some, yes, but not a lot. Anyway, the best bet is to get out there and look and see what it is you want or need. And work from there. If you had a TT before, and now you're getting a 5er, then you might be looking at a new truck as well. Lots of things to look at.

Rockwood/Flagstaff used to have laminated floors but they went to wood floors. Not sure when this change happened but I believe it was around 2016 or 2017.

On the Rockwood Ultralight, I think it was 2018, but don't hold me to it.

My concern for you would be, can you actually find what you are looking for? Every dealer has limited stock because demand has outpaced production. And if you have to order, I have heard rumors that it could be 9months to a year before you can take delivery.

If it were me, I would start researching what 5th wheels I am interested in. And then get the truck that I will need to have in order to tow it. If you have the truck, then you are ahead of the game (I'm making some assumptions). Then I would wait for the RV boom to slow. In the next year, people are going to realize they hate RVing, and they are going to start unloading all of these RVs that have only limited use. Then you will be able to get whatever you want, almost new, for significantly cheaper, in the same timeframe as ordering.

The caveat is that this is all just guessing on my part. But typically, when you see a boom like this with significant numbers of "new entries" into the RV community, 30-40% of them are going to realize they do not like it as much as they thought they would, or their family or financial situation changed, etc.

Semperfi - We are considering selling our truck and trailer at this crest and wait for everything to bottom out and then repurchase. Right now based on current sales figures, I can sell my truck for $20,000 more than I paid for it (I bought it used before COVID) and I can sell the trailer for just at $10k more than I bought it for (also bought used, pre COVID). Prices are crazy, and heavy duty trucks and travel trailers are in little to no supply.

For $30k, I can go stay in some hotels for a while!
