Tire replacement rule?

I need to replace one of my four 5th wheel tires. Now is there a rule like with cars, if you replace one you need to replace the other on the same side or on the other side?

Probably not necessary if the tire wear is not excessive on the opposite side. I have replaced single tires when I had a puncture repaired. Trailers do not have the same handling issues as powered vehicles. It does makes sense to use the same tire brand/size though.

As an fyi... you may get tons of opinions from folks on this forum. If you want tire information from a true expert with 40 years as a tire forensics engineer, check out Roger Marble's website: RVTiresafety.net There is a wealth of excellent info on his site.

Depends on why you are replacing it and the age of the tires....
