I apparently have (2) black tanks.
How does the second one come into play? Is it for a washer hook up or does it take an overflow when the first one is full.
I have no info telling me.
I have a Crusader fiver. My panel has a switch labeled Black 1 and Black 2 but only have one black tank. The switch for Black 2 always shows full and Black 1 shows what is in the black tank.

Then you only have one black tank. See which does not fill up on the panel when you use the camper. You can tape or paint over the marking so you do not become confused.

I have a friend with a CC which has two black tanks because it has two bathrooms. There are two black tank flush inlets. There are two gray tanks also of course. There's one sewer drain pipe, though, and only one black tank handle.

One of the ways Forest River saves money is to have one control panel which it uses in multiple models. Our Coachmen Brookstone only has one black tank but control panel shows two. Only one will light up as you start to use it. Then you will know which to ignore. Our Cade tank one is real and two is the non existent one.

I have lights on both which leads me to believe there are 2 tanks

When you press the button for black tank 1, what's the highest number of lights you've ever seen?
How many for black tank 2?

There doesn't have to be anything in a tank to get one light. We don't use our fresh water tank and actually have the drain cap off. (so I know it's empty) We still get a single light on the panel.

Yes, I proposed that in post #18.

Your statements "We had four lights on the tank that i call #1
We have always had one light on the #2 tank." make me GUESS you have sensors in tank one and they are hooked to the control board BUT that you have NO tank 2 (nor sensors for it). My "final answer" is that you have one black tank.
This quoted post also gives his answer to the question I asked just before your post. I'm going out to mow the back 40.
Peace.

Thank you Mr. Dan for your superior knowledge and attitude.
If you read your own post #9 you said there would be NO light

And I read his post #9 to mean he would not see MULTIPLE lights. He did use the plural. Maybe everyone's high horse needs a break

This thread became tiresome as the OP seems to have no interest in running some simple tests to figure this out for himself. The rest of us can guess till the cows come home and never be sure

Actually, I said GUESS and guessing. I quoted here for you to re-read.

The way these sensors are wired, pressing the appropriate button (tank or battery) will light the bottommost LED to show there is continuity in the circuit. It means "E" or empty when a tank button is pressed, and "L" for "Low" (LED will be on until battery voltage drops to less than 6 volts) if "Battery" is pressed. (FYI a battery is considered "dead" below 10.5 volts so NEVER wait till the "F" - "Fair" or 11.6 volt light goes out to recharge).

The graphic is for a different "style" of panel, but the function and troubleshooting is the same for all MicroMonitor tank/propane/battery systems when dealing with holding tanks and battery.
