Unhappy!!! Forest River you need to read this

Same here on the loose connections. One leg of our 50a Marinco inlet was stripped and loose. Found that installing the EMS. Definitely worth checking all of them to eliminate the hot spots.

Is there a preventive measure that we can consider doing to prevent this? I'm thinking (sorry I'm a mechanical engineer) a big fuse added to the positive wire at the battery terminal like 40amp for the 30amp users?

Although this is not something we all want to happen and the OP is very lucky to have caught this and not be injured and there's no EXCUSE for shoddy workmanship.

If no one reports these types of issues to the NHTSA then a recall will never get generated and the governing bodies think every thing is ok. When I read some of the stuff people have to do to a piece of property they just payed thousands of dollars for it amazes me that FR does not put 'some reassembly may be necessary' in the small print on their brochure.

Yikes! My slide switch stuck momentarialy this weekend, luckily it was grit or something as I tapped the other side and the switch moved and a black speck hit the counter.

With as much wire as these things have mistakes like this are inexcusable.

I'm new to the forum but as far as your non-refundable trips, why not contact the parks, explain the situation [by now you may have some documentation that you could share with them] and as for a special accommodation to re-schedule your visits. The worst than can say is no.

On another note, I'm so glad no one was hurt. I can't even imagine what it must have been like. Good luck.

Here is the straight scoop:

Some call them Park Models, others Cabins or Cottages. These homes are normally less than 400 square feet and are classified as RV's. They are not considered mobile or manufactured homes.

Most park model homes are built sightly better than a quality RV, however unlike a mobile or manufactured home, Park Model Homes do not meet stick built housing requirements and are not certified by Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Although they are great for the dollar spent.

  A 'park model' is a specific type of mobile home, generally built to the same standards as is a mobile home, rather than to recreational vehicle trailer standards.
  
  Park models are thusly named because they are specifically less than 400 square feet in measured size. And that magical size number is what makes a home a property taxable home or not.

Checking my Tracer now...

On the Tracer, where is the Short Stopper for the slide motors? The Short Stoppers for the stab. jack motors are under the frame but when I pulled the panel with my slide switches (above TV) , I do not see a Short Stopper...

And it should be built to withstand that earthquake because they are destined to be towed, right from the moment it comes off the line. If you make a product to be towed then towing it should not destroy it.
