As far as your walk-through, have the dealer show you all systems and how they work. Depending on where you live (It is snowing outside my window right now) it may not be possible to check out the water system, so suggest that when it is warmer, before your first trip, you bring it back in and one of the techs goes over the water system completely with you. Other than water system TEST everything else - furnace, stove, etc.
