LOL D&S you're bad.

It means I Love You

The dream catcher underneath it is custom made by a Cherokee friend who is teaching me the language, which I should have learned at my grandmother's knee. Shame on me, but better late than never.

Doing some driveway camping tonight in the new Crusader. Need to get little Tucker acquainted with the new coach. It shouldn't be a problem as he's the first one at the door when he hears the keys rattle

I weighed it. I'll possibly do a thread, but here's the results.

Hitched= Truck is 9,700 and the trailer is 9,500 total 19,200
Unhitched= Truck is 7,120, landing gear has 3,680, trailer axles has 8400, trailer is 12,080

My dry weight, per the sticker, is 11,336. That means 744 pounds of stuff, which I agree with.

I put a solar light right next to the steps so we can see them at night! Stuck it right on the trailer.

Washed and Waxed. Installed ball valves on all three waste tank drain hoses. Lubricated slide gaskets. Need to sanitize the water tank and we'll be all set to go camping.

Thought I would pull the wheels and drums to ck brakes before our 4k + mi trip coming up soon. Found 2 of the four grease seals had leaked, had not made it to the brake shoes yet. Replaced all four grease seals, cleaned off all the old grease from the spindle and drum cavity. De greased and checked bearings, repacked bearings the old way and reassembled. Worked good on my old chevys and fords, should work ok on the RV and calling it good for a couple of years. Found seals at Autozone, "Timken # 8835S" Had the wheels and tires balanced at discount tire. One wheel was way off, took 5oz to balance. The other three that were on the ground took 2 - 3 ounces each and the spare took little over 3 ounces. Hope these tires get us through the trip. Shouldn't need to worry about these things on a new unit but thats the way it is. Guess I'm a bit of a nit picker. BTW a pleasant surprise, our 8289 has self adjusting brakes.

Ordered new tires. Install on Monday. Discovered some dry rot as I was putting air in after winter storage. Not going to try traveling on bad tires.

Not really sure I should post this as I didn't do it today, I did it a few weeks ago right before our first camping trip of the year.

I was dewinterizing and I had the hot water heater access panel off. Opened the valves and started putting the panel on. I remove and install those square drive screws with the bit in fingers, never with a driver handle. When I removed them prior to winter I noticed two of the four screw holes were not holding any torque. So I had cut some one inch by one inch by 1/4 inch pieces of pine and glued them to the backside of the wall. After the glue set I drilled a very small pilot hole through the existing screw holes into the wooden blocks that I had glued on. So far it seems to be working well. I doubt I am the first to do it, but I thought I would post it in case anyone else runs into this issue.
