What did you do to your camper today?

I thought about removing the propane bottles to save weight. Then I remembered the trailer still weighs 13,000 lbs.

Got half of weigh in finished. I was surprised, the F350 weighed in at 8,230 #. Hitch not in, it weighs 32#.

Yes, there may not be much affect by removing about 100# from a 13,000# 5er, but there certainly is by removing the same amount from the tongue of a 4,400# trailer,......but more important is the fact that we don't use propane, so why carry those two 30# tanks around just for show? Now I have a place to carry the bikes and get them out of the camper shell, .....I call that a win-win.......

Measured the windows to order 1" faux wood blinds to replace the pleated shades. Cost came out to $448. We will live with the pleated shades.

Absolutely a win-win. When I had my hybrid that I was towing with an Explorer, every pound made a difference.

Not knocking your decision. Just commenting that me trying to save weight is a lost cause.

Just curious though. You don't cook anything on the stove?

all electric,..... my wife is from China and prefers to cook on her electric stuff,.....I covered the stove top and whole counter top to make a large work area, she fills it up with: rice cooker, small slow cooker, large slow cooker, hot plate, griddle, two Chinese electric hot water pots, Kerig mini coffee maker(there may be more, but that's all I can think of right now), she uses the oven as a dish cabinet, .....but we don't go without good oven cooking, our Presto Pizzazz Pizza Oven does a great job on french fries and pizzas,.....

Got my Surge Guard remote panel installed installed, then started to try and figure out how to fish wires to the king pin wiring box from one of the storage compartments. I tried this last year and had given up so I started to try and figure it out again. There are 2 chases 1 is aluminum and the other steel frame where all the other wire are but no luck fishing it. After sever hours I was finally able to fish from the compartment to a running light and not have to get from there to the king pin. I want to hook up backup lights but my unit did not come with any. Last year for temporary use I just stole a ground wire from another set of wires for,the backup lights and tied the now cut ground into another ground wire.

What I did to fish wires from the pin box to my storage compartment, when I installed the Elector/hydraulic pump for my disc brakes. I had to install larger wires and one more wire for the pump. I found the wire I needed to replace, and disconnected them then solder the new wires on to them, and then pulled them all through. I made sure I could move the two wires that I had to replace before I started.( I actually had to do it twice, because the instruction were wrong on the size of the extra wire)

I realized the dealer lied when he said they filled the propane tanks after the furnace stopped heating around midnight after running for 1 day. Unless My furnace burns 60 lbs a day....
Made the midnight walmart run to the only 24 hour one nearby.
Figured out the water heater a bit, filled the fresh water tank to disconnect from the site water as it's going under 32 tonight. Dumped the waste tanks, added a water filter. And found where the circuit breakers are after starting my electric kettle for french press coffee while the newly acquired oil heater was still on high.

I tried the new deal of using an existing as a pull string but they were taped very tightly together unfortunately. I was to worried I would break it so stopped that idea. Thank you for the suggestion.

Today I installed a roof vent cover, a Blue Streak system, and a cutoff valve between the water pump outlet and where line feeds in to the cold water line. The last mod I had to do because I have been unable to get the back flow valve in the pump to work. The city water supply was back filling my fresh water tank. We never use the FWT. If I need to or when I winterize I will simply reach into the pump cabinet and open the valve.

I give up on trying to rotate iPhone pics.

Your tank looks a touch high,
It'll be fine as long as the solution doesn't seep into the bowl.

I was lazy. The only thing I have done the last few days was place the 100' of coax on a cord reel.

I have been reading the forum and have added a few projects before our next outing.

1. Install the "OC Edition" awning poles.
2. Install two Blue Streaks
3. Install a couple of EZ hose carriers (probably make my own) for the 40' of stinky slinky. I thought 40' was overkill, but on our first outing I used most of it to get both drains connected to the dump at the rear of the site.

I have them stored in a tote in the generator compartment, but being able to slide them in their own "pipe" would free up allot of space.

Ended up taking cover off both campers and wgt outta the plow truck ( noreaster didnt materialise ). maybe next weekend take dads microlight to his house and battery and power to mine
