I've had those brackets for over a year. Plan on installing them on the next outing. However, I will be removing the poles when not in use. I attach them to the bracket with clevis pins.

Found a deal on Amazon a couple days ago. Mr. UPS showed up this afternoon. By FAR the best shackle kit on the market. They're a full 1/2 thick. The wet bolts and bronze bushings are a plus too. Assembly went quick and painless. Of course my old shackle side plates were egged. The plastic bushings I put in last year though still looked good and still had grease on them.

89 shipped for the full tandem axle set. Most places are getting that for a single set. Search " MOR/ryde UO12-016 " in Amazon sold by Amazon. I think they have 9 kits left.

I'm interested in being educated about this too ...
I need to change tires on the camper soon, and want to make sure I have a back-up in case using the Trailer Aid ramp doesn't work out.
(current plan is to just drive the 5er over to tire shop, and use the ramp to switch out one at a time)
I thought you could jack a torsion axle right under the point where it's fixed to the frame.

Actually the bottle jack will not work for a flat situation. I still carry a floor jack for that. The bottle jack is easier to use for raising an end of an axle for packing bearings and adjusting brakes.

I used four cans of Rustoleum satin black on the frame, cross members, and the suspension. Lots of rust for a 2015 that hasn't even been used yet. And could of used a fifth can.

But it's a 2003! But It probably has less rust on the frame than the camper.

More likely less, but rusty just the same.

Problem is that on our 5er the only exposed (well, with a thin skin over it) section of the main I-frame (running front to back) near the axles has an LP pipe running along it on one side of the camper, so there's no easy way to jack on the frame (which is partly why I'm hoping the Trailer Aid ramp will work out ok.
I understand the concern that jacking elsewhere on the axle could buckle it, since you'd have opposing force on two different points along the length, but the only risk (from simple physics) of jacking directly under where it's fixed to the chassis would be from crushing the casing. I sincerely hope that they're built to withstand that force (tho' I'm shocked that they're not tough enough to withstand jacking at any point)
