Many a Powerstroke turbo has been dusted due to a K&N filter, many of us with Powerstrokes have reinstalled the OEM Donaldson filters without taking a performance hit.

In the performance diesel world, the consensus is that K&N air filters are bad. They let more fine dust through into the engine than other quality performance filters. That said, I have no first hand experience.

It's a [L]special K&N oil,[/I] pink, looks like tranny oil but I doubt very much if it its.

But for a Strictly Stock type of guy why are you messing with OEM Chevy parts? They come from the factory the best they can be IMHO.

Or more appropriately, the best the manufacturer needs to get the engine through the warranty period. There are many options that are far better than OEM, but you'll pay for it. Sometimes a million mile item is needed. Sometimes not.
I view OEM as "minimum necessary". Acceptable? Yes. Best? No.

Never run a K&N on a turbo diesel, unless you want to destroy it for 0 performance gain

Just looked at her today but have plans to wash and wax this weekend.. Getting the dreaded black streaks on her. RCA cables came in so we can have sound in the speakers when we turn the TV on, those will get put on sometime soon.

The oem air filter for Cummins is one of the best filters to run. K&N will destroy a turbo.

Keeping the roof cleaned will go a long way to help avoid the black streaks.

I didn't realize I feel into the K&N debate thread.

Anyway, what did I do to my camper today? I put new license plates on it. We're all official in Florida- driver's license, license plates for the truck + camper, and an address.

I'm getting ready to bug out if necessary, checked air in tires and secured loose items. We have a forest fire about 2.5 miles from our place. Thankfully it is moving the other direction; but winds have picked up this afternoon and a flying ember is all we need for disaster...

btw-- healing from back surgery is going great.

I didn't mean to side track this thread into a K&N filter debate.

It came today and I installed it. We'll see how it runs. The filter had no oil on it and no where in the instructions did it say to oil it but I did 'cuz I know better.

Check K&N's website - frequently asked questions - most come pre oiled and if not are clearly marked as such. It doesn't take much and only use their oil.

I bought new roof vent covers and an additional Max Air vent. We had a hail storm and broke the two that were not under Max Air covers.

Installed 2 super thin 2500 RPM fans to my refrigerator intake vent to help push air over the coils for better efficiency. If it works, I'll possibility go larger with them. 32 in the fridge before installation. Hope it helps the freezer.

Reassembled furniture in slide since it was removed as I installed new flooring. Made changes to the furniture arrangement while I was at it. More painting of interior cabinetry from oak to white. Removed carpet from bunkhouse and replacing it with vinyl plank flooring.

Driveway camping this weekend with my boys and new puppy. Last time camping, the kids saw a TT with a cool blue LED awning light. Our 625d PUP is a 2015 and didn't come with them, so after $10 on Amazon, I finally got some time to put them up. Easy project and kids love them.

Just finished my annual greasing of the bearings. Nice clean grease coming out. Nice red tacky going in. Also cleaned my wheels and dressed the tires.
