Just got the whole camper including the roof and the LP cover washed and had to replace the vent caps since they were dry rotted. Got the RCA cables in and working with the tv. Waxing will have to wait for later today or tomorrow.

I did not use the threaded shaft. Found the steel 5/8's shaft from home depot. Figured it's stronger than threaded. The four large lock nuts are just spacers, just slipped on the shaft.

The 1/2 inch original axle would fall out from time to time. It just snaps in. The only problem I had with the smaller wheels is my rubber strap to the ball broke when inching across a speed bump. I might try jb weld in the moulded groove the axle pops in before screwing the inner washer into the side of the tank. I hate poking two holes in it.

I just don't want the heavy axle popping out when I move it from the bed of the truck to the ground and back.

How about using a larger diameter thin walled tube as a "sleeve" for the axle to go through? It would be the length equal to the distance between your two wshers. The larger sleeve would not pop out as easily.

The original shaft was popping out when I'd pick the entire thing off the ground. The original shaft was 1/2 inch diameter.

This one is tighter and hasn't popped out yet but I'd expect it will. Just looking to fix the shaft to the tank so I don't have to bother with it while camping. Also thought about wire up to the large nipple where the hose clamp is. If it didn't have the hose storage I'd just go over the top with the ratchet strap.

Yeah, 5/8" is bigger than 1/2".

Guess I read 5/8", but thought 3/8".

Could still be an option, though. Maybe a 3/4" sleeve would stay in.

When I bought mine the first time I used it one of the rear tires fell into a hole and popped the axle out. I was thinking about doing the same with the pneumatic tires but not sure what to do with the poor axle design. You would think they should have moulded it in.

I also cut reliefs in the bayonet connector as it does not seem to fit on very tight. Now it snaps on like the sewer hose. Also double check all your hose clamps, mine were kind of loose. For all the good reviews, I think they have a lot of room for improvement.

I have a Fantastic Fan in the bathroom, does anybody ever keep one turned on all of the time to suck air thru from another roof vent? With the residential fridge I need to make sure it doesn't overheat.

Noticed that the black tank was always draining. So after a good flush ran a scope up the drain and noticed the drain only about halfway closed. Spent the morning pulling the valve out and inspecting. When I pulled the cable out of the guide. Right at the handle the cable has started to birdcage. Got it cleaned up and back together and adjusted enough to work while I get a replacement cable in from Amazon. Will take pics when I go back into replace the cable

Is your old cable braided? The new one I got from Amazon is solid wire.

Found a really nice bumper mount from a fellow member that had removed it. Mounted our Aussie grill on it. Very sturdy design. Really wanted that greasy grill out of the basement.
