Along the lines of the other's who have found issues with the sealing of their AC's... I was cleaning the filter when I found a piece of foam laying in the AC. Turns out it was the divider between the cold output and the return.. Fixed it up with some Gorilla Tape and, well, now the trailer is cooling MUCH better. It was not BAD before but it is amazing when the cold air goes into the trailer and not sucked back into the AC.

I just went and checked that place out. The attraction for me is it's so close the Maple Grove Dragstrip which I attend for the VW show.

Well. I solved the black tank smell on Friday when we arrived at Ocean Lakes. Turns out, I just hadn't been getting them clean. I bought some clear elbows and rinsed until clear water. All is right with the world.

Never had that issue on previous RVs (this is my third) so not sure where I went wrong. Oh well.

The AC return "tubes" are working. Based on everyone's posts, I think I will get up on the roof and do some checking there just to see if everything is OK. That will wait until we get home though. AC is doing fine, so no rush.

I just saw them there on Saturday. Are you not buying the separate cord and not using the transformer and wiring them direct to Battery voltage? I read the transformer and they are 12v.
These would work well in the basement.

Kit comes with transformer, switch cord, and multi plug block. I hook direct to trailer voltage, thru switch. Sensitive to + -

Add me to the list. This weekend, I worked on both A/Cs.

The living room one, there was basically no foil tape around the ductwork:

I taped that up; it's not pretty, but it's taped:

On the bedroom A/C, I saw a bunch of places where air could seep into the intake side. No pics, but gratuitous use of foil tape.

The last thing that I did was to tape off the rear A/C vents. It was open to the rear of the trailer and I made a tape "ramp" to funnel air out of it.

Before:

After:

We held off as long as possible, but we finally added some Reflectix to living room windows. I hated to do it, but the living area would creep up to the mid-to-high 80s.

With the Reflectix and A/C fixes, we stayed "cool" at 76.

Unpacked the food from the fiver. Had a six day trip planned for the lake, leaving tomorrow. Wife asks why I was loading it so early last night and my question was what? She said we leave next Monday. Uh no I say, Wednesday. Well she put in for the wrong vacation days. So now I get to do a stay cation and rebuild the back deck. Oh fun, oh joy. I won't say all of the four letter words I said when she told me that. Oh well, next trip not until BamaGanza in October.
