I restrung 2 day/night shades including the wide 4-string one behind the sofa.

In order to remove the tightener spools on the big one I had to pull out the sofa bed for the first time in a while. (The spools are mounted just below the back of the sofa and I couldn’t get a screwdriver on them.) When I opened the sofa bed I discovered a bolt had fallen off and a hinge had separated (not related to the bolt). To fix the hinge I had to unzip the fabric cover which revealed a fair bit of mouse droppings and a small patch of foam chewed away. We haven’t had any other signs of mice in the trailer for quite a while so I think those droppings were from the mice we had a couple years ago. Disgusting to think we’ve been sitting on that for that long.

Restringing the shades is a very finicky job and really needs a 2nd set of hands - especially for the bigger 4-string shades - to keep everything under control and keep the springs centered when reassembling everything.

I’ve restrung 3 of the 4 shades in the living area now and I doubt I have enough string left to do the 4th which is another wide, 4-string blind. We’re thinking about replacing them with roller blinds like FR and other manufacturers are now putting in many new higher end TTs and 5ers.

Hold onto your butt when you price them. They're hella expensive!

So you’re saying buying new string would be cheaper?!

My drain was right between the axles. Very difficult to access.

Here's my drain extension:

I used a 1/2" or 3/4" (can't remember which) NPT male to PEX elbow at the tank, like this

https://www.menards.com/main/heating...809249&ipos=10

with a piece of 1/2" PEX, then a 1/2" NPT female to PEX adapter like this

https://www.menards.com/main/plumbin...7051342&ipos=1

at the other end of the PEX. Then a combo 1/2"-3/4" valve at the end like this

https://www.adventurerv.net/camco-dr...ge-p-1955.html

I used a 90 degree stub out support to make the curve, like this

https://www.homedepot.com/p/Apollo-1...D2PK/301541121

The hanger is self-explanatory.

I used the piece of wood and cable tie as a temporary support, but never got around to making something more permanent, so it's still there and working fine.

I did paint it all black, so it disappears under the trailer.

All of the vinyl strips on my slideouts were cracking badly. One was completely split. I ended up ordering JT products premium 1" vinyl inserts and spent an hour at 6:15 am replacing the inserts. Thankfully, at that time of day it was only 70 degrees. Click image for larger version

Today I re-caulked the shower, there were several spots where the sealant that they used had cracked an had an open gap.

Also lubricated the slide rails, and secured wiring under the camper that they "didn't have time" to secure at the factory.

Slowly getting this camper into shape and making it our own.

Tomorrow I'll get the brakes adjusted, and hopefully my new Vortex II fan will get here and I'll get it installed. Says they tried to deliver it today but for some reason did not. I was here all day, never saw the FedEx truck, so I don't now what that is all about

Brake Adjust and Vortex II Install

Adjusted my electric brakes-- wow, they were waaay out of adjustment, no wonder I didn't seem to have much trailer brake!! Really kind of expected better from Dexter

My Vortex II fan was delivered today, and I got that installed too. Needed a few more tools than just a screwdriver, but not much.

Now I think I've got the new camper ready for our first real "trip" (more than an hour away from Home)!!

How did you secure to frame straps or through the fence post?

Are you pleased with the Vortex II fan? Is it as noisy as the original?

So far, I'm satisfied. It moves a LOT more air than the original cheeseball Ventline fan. I had it running on High while I was cleaning up from the install, and when I came back to the shower, it had sucked the shower curtain halfway up the wall to the ceiling.

I would say that it is a bit louder than the Ventline (keep in mind that my camper is brand new so the ventline motor hasn't had many hours on it and is still pretty quiet), but you know that it is actually doing something... so for me I can live with that. It is not "loud" by any means, but it definitely isn't whisper quiet either, except on "LOW", it is pretty quiet on LOW.

The reason I went with the Vortex II was I had already bought a MaxxAir cover for the vent, and I really didn't want to get up on the roof on my brand new camper... so I figured I would try the Vortex II... that way I get to use my already paid for cover, and no need to remove the entire vent, reseal, etc.

I think, for the price, you can't go wrong, if you don't need to replace the entire vent. If you may need to replace the entire vent, I would go with a MaxxAir or FantasticFan and do it right the first time.

We're taking the camper out for our first real "trip" next weekend, and I'll get a chance to let the Vortex fan do it's thing. But like I said, just off of the install, I'm happy with it.

Just finished our backsplash project. Smart Tiles Metro Carrera from Home Depot (special order). Initially started with 4 packages of six tiles but ended up short so ordered another two packs. Ended up only using one but got creative with the last tile. May keep the extra pack just in case. These tiles weren't cheap $37/pack. All in it probably took 7-8 hours.

There are lots of ways. If you do a search for "fence post" above, you'll find lots of threads.

On my Roo and Mini Lite, I didn't want to screw into the frame, so I used stainless steel bolts, nuts and fender washers to capture the flange of the frame on each side. I put it on the Roo for 3 years, then moved it to the Mini Lite (and painted it) and it's been on there for 4 years. I've attached a sketch of the mounting attachment.
