We have one of those screens that go over the drain in bathroom sink and some reason DW does not like, she says it rusts. Well today right before we need to head out sight seeing she say i dropped the cap to something down there. Well sticky tape on end of a pen and my mechanic grabber did not work so big man had to take the trap out and i do not bend that way anymore. My question was that is the reason we bought the screen! DW says not what she wants to hear right now. We did have a good day sight seeing in nags head, kitty hawk, duck, and corolla. Go figure

I had a busy day yesterday with the trailer: 1) Drained and cleaned the Water Heater; 2) Replaced the low point drain caps with ball valves; 3) Added a sturdy bracket on my rear bumper to accept a piece of 1-1/2" PVC pipe to support a 23' antenna pole (a Mr. Long Arm with a HDTV Antenna with rotor for better OTA reception); 4) Installed a Blue Streak reservoir and fittings to my Dometic toilet; and added wiring for switched LED lights above the storage compartment doors on my pass-thru storage so I can see inside at night (tied into the switch that controls the hitch illumination LEDs on the left front of my TT).
Tomorrow I begin provisioning for my trip to BamaGanza on Wednesday and will give the TT a good washing. I have an exterior Cable Inlet cover and some associated hardware on order to install a new inlet port near the existing one to connect the new antenna.

One question. How can you be married to my wife too???
When I'm wrong she's right. When I'm right, she's right too. Go figure.

You’re right on the trip out west, but still only a few thousand miles on those tires.
Yes on the damage...a little. The wheel well molding flew off...gone. The wiring for the slide was ripped out. Could have been much worse. No real physical damage to the TT. Thanks for asking.

Busy weekend. Couple weeks ago I found a peice ot 3/4 round wood molding under my main slide and it scratched the hell out of my floor I guess while driving then opening. I have been debating on the repair for awhile. So today I cut it out and filled it with gorilla glue clear epoxy that I colored with paint. It seems to be a strong repair and doesnt look to bad. What are your thoughts. I figure we will cover it with a mat anyway at least now it won't get any worse.
Then I started the task of waxin the whole camper. Got two coats on the front cap and 1/3 of the passenger side. Tomm is another day. How to have it done before we leave out on Friday.

HD Motorized Antenna

I purchased the antenna from Walmart online and had it delivered to my local store (it is under $30!) -- Here is the link to it. The antenna, which reportedly has a 150 mile range and a simple controller to rotate it from inside, will be mounted to a 23' Mr. Long Arm which I bought at Home Depot (here is the link) for about $40. I cut the last 3" off an old plastic painting pad that has the threads for an extension pole and it fits perfectly into the socket in the antenna for a pole (I think it is about 1" in diameter). I store the pole inside my trailer on top of the molding for one of my slideouts so it is out of the way when I'm in travel mode.
For the lower end, I bought a 3' length of 1-1/2" PVC pipe, two 4" x 5" x 3/8" square U-Bolts, two 2" x 3" x 5/16" U-bolts and cut two 12" long pieces of perforated 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" galvanized angle iron to create the mounting bracket that fits on my square tube bumper adjacent to the left end near the license plate. The angle iron pieces are left in place, but I removed the PVC pipe when underway. Once I am set up on site and have adequate overhead clearance, I install the PVC on the bracket with the smaller U-bolts and secure it (I'm going to replace the 5/16" hex nuts with corresponding wing nuts to make this a tool-less installation). Prior to putting the antenna in place, I'll secure it to the end of the Mr. Long Arm and tape the coaxial cable at a few places down the pole to secure it (the antenna comes with a 75' length). then it is a simple task to insert the extension pole into the PVC pipe. It will have its maiden run this next week when I go to BamaGanza, so I cannot report on its efficiency yet.
I have attached some pictures of the bumper bracket. In the third picture, you can also see the external water filter I installed behind my spare tire that replaces the one inside the water pump compartment.
Hope this helps -- the idea for the antenna came from an earlier post on this forum -- so great to have creative folks around! And yes, I'll report on how well the antenna works after I return from Alabama.

Cleaned out the inside and started loading things for a week up into the mountains near Asheville N.C.. Going to be at Lake Powhatan for the 1st night on Friday and hopefully we can grab a walk up site for the rest of the week. If we can't we'll wing it.
See you down the road .
