Got it winterized last night, no fun in the dark and with the pump not working correctly.. going to the shop later to be repaired and the awning replaced.

If it's cycling more than once or twice a night, you've got a leak somewhere. You might want to look at installing an accumulator.

Yes! This was her 4th year going. And we’ve been in the RV every time she’s gone. I always laugh (and cry a little) when she comes back. Every other year, she had to fly home and was limited on what she was bringing. This year, she carpooled back and wasn’t!

Today is Nov 14 and it topped out at 20 degrees today. So what did I do, I pulled the TT out of the carport and started getting ready to go boondocking for a week during Wisconsin's deer hunting season that starts in 8 days. I am taking 3 of my daughters and they love the fact that we get to have real working heat while we sleep.
I hope that I get to pull it home on Nov 30 on dry roads. 4 years ago I got to tow home in 6 inches of fresh snow. If that ever happens again, I will leave the TT at camp for a day or two and go pick it up when the roads get plowed.

Picked up my 5th wheel from Orvan this afternoon.

Had him - add King WiFi Max with Falcon antenna, add Fantastic fan in bathroom, replace 2 step with 3 steps in hallway & extend handrail, add crowning bracket on gear arm tubes, weld retro support kit above axle area where leaf springs attach to frame (strengthens frame), add struts for front compartment door, add high tail lights, replace 1 1/4" receiver with 2", seal voids & check roof, add morryde stow and go outside steps, repack wheel bearings, replace porch light with LED and add light in compartment bay.

He also did warranty work which included - replaced entry door, TV, added brackets to refrigerator, replaced leaking bedroom slide ram, repaired pantry drawers and guides, repaired bubbles in ceiling along crown moulding, adjusted passage door, repaired & glued rear cabinet doors, moved kitchen island (dinette hitting), repaired kitchen island lights, adjusted all slides as out of alignment, replaced cracked fender skirts, replaced water pump, replaced front cap damaged by hitch bolts (front cap too far forward), replaced air bag, repaired soft/weak spot in bedroom sub-floor, repaired closet door loose mirrors, repaired loose fascia on bedroom slide, repaired linoleum where kitchen slides rubbing and overcuts at registers, corrected ducting to registers, repaired outlet under kitchen cabinet (hole too big), replaced bath faucets (peeling finish), secured trim throughout as needed, adjusted toppers, added weep holes to bay compartment doors, repaired bubbles on roof radius, replaced LCI touchscreen (button moved) and several other issues.

Glad was able to take it to Orvan. Nice to have all work done over a short period (5 days). He and his crew do excellent work.

After picking it up, drove 3 hours taking straight to storage.

Closed on the purchase transaction, brought it home from RVW and parked it in my Ohio friend's driveway. Tomorrow we'll install the camera and configure the TPMS, fill water and propane tanks, hook it up to the 30A outlet he has rigged for his trailer, and test systems more thoroughly before I leave the state.

Congrats on your new Rockwood. How did the transaction with RVW go? They have a decent reputation here on this forum. They should have filled the LP tanks for you so there shouldn’t be any need to do that.

I store mine indoors at Hribar storage but a week or so after dropping it off we got snow so I hope they got it indoors before that.... Really don't want snow sitting on top for the next 5 months!!!

You may know this already... but, I’ll say it anyway.

If this is the first time the outlet is being used, make sure it’s wired for 120v and not 240v.

The transaction was easy although we were kept waiting to finalize the sale after the PDI. There was only one employee working in the business office. I griped and was offered an office to sit in, but would still be waiting in the office rather than the lobby, so I saw no point in moving.

The propane tanks were empty. I wasn't impressed but don't recall whether or not the contract said they were to be filled. I'll check. If so, I'll ask for a cash refund for the value.

The PDI was thorough. Temps prevented use of water in the tanks to demonstrate that they work. I asked the tech and was told they had done so when they received the trailer a few weeks ago. As above, propane was also lacking so no checking that.

I climbed on the roof and found what appeared to be staple heads or the like causing dimples in the roof membrane from underneath. None were large enough to make puncture seem imminent, but there's a potential. If it happened, I wouldn't even know it until I climbed up on the roof again.

If I were seriously picky, I might have declined purchased and argued about having the membrane peeled back, the imperfections corrected, then the membrane reapplied. That probably would be overkill so I requested instead to put dabs of Dicor on those spots to protect against penetration.

When I checked after the contract was signed, they had put Dicor blobs on many more spots than I saw, so I believe they were being more proactive than I would have been. When i get home I'll take a picture of the roof and correspond with Forest River and RVW to document it in case it becomes an issue in the future. I doubt it will.

I checked gas, water, electrical and other mechanical functions myself today. All seems well. I don't doubt that we'll find minor issues in the future but they don't justify my not taking it home to Florida tomorrow.

What I found a bit weird and unprofessional is the final interaction with "an old friend" of the owner. It was an attempt to proselytize. I saw where it was going and declined to enter into a conversation without being rude. He was polite about not going further, but it was out of place.

Cleaned mats and pass-thru and tightened screws all the way around on outside, most were good.... Stock some supplies and drinks ... getting ready for long Thanksgiving weekend at Peace River Campground ... 4 spot for 4 fivers in the family now
