Yeah, on second look, it was.

Now to find if I just broke a part of the tank or a screw in fitting.

If that thing is plastic I sure hope it is just a fitting threaded into a metal "pressure vessel"

Might try the handle of pliers in the hole and see if it threads out.

It was plastic. I'm afraid to try unthreading it out of fear of causing more damage.

I haven't been able to find a parts diagram from Suburban that shows the backside of the water heater. I'm hopeful that I can call them tomorrow to see if they have any suggestions.

Hey ependy. Go to your closest big box hardware store.Look in the plumbing dept.,they should have a easyout made for plastic fittings. Real cheap and made from aluminum. Will work like a charm for getting that out. I have one and use it all the time in my business to take out broken plastic fittings in steel, brass and cast parts. It goes from just a little under 1/2" to a little more than 3/4".

We still don't have the fiver, but we broke ground today on its new home.

Originally, when we started the planning back in August it was going to be the Motorhome garage. Due to weather delays and some size / design changes from us, the Motorhome will never even get to sit in it.

Do you happen to have a link or picture of this tool?

Thank you 05CrewDually and youroo. That appears to be exactly what I'm after. I'm here at LazyDays, so I'll just pay whatever.

It is confirmed in these posts by Lou and wmtire:

Not for me. That bad boy has a lot of usable life left. I check it fairly regularly and it's pretty slow to be eaten away.

Here's the chart from Suburban's manual on life/usage:
