So, I can't see why Forest River put black refridgerator vent covers and a/c covers on my 2013 Surveyor 220. Wouldn't those black covers retain heat and make the fridge and a/c work harder?

So, naturally, I took both covers off, prepped them and painted them flat white with a good plastic/primer spray paint. I am hoping this mod will help both the fridge and a/c work a little more efficiently.

I hope to put a fan in the refer cavity on the outside of the trailer but geez there is so little room in there. Maybe up top of the vent stack as there seems to be a lot of room up there. If I could afford it I would put one of those ARP fridge controllers on there too, maybe later as funds allow.

Have fun camping and modifiying!
I have wondered about the black for the A/C's as well. Never made any sense to me. How well did the paint go on the plastic? Got a big trip coming up but I am interested in doing this yet this summer. Might even do the fridge vents like you mentioned.

Turbs did a fan in the upper fridge area with a temperature controller to run it. I got the stuff to do it but have not had the time to install. Very cheap on eBay for that as well.

Valve was replaced with threaded plastic pipe. Bilstine shocks to replace Monro RV shocks. They replaced originals. Started to porpoise again. 75000+ miles, can't complain!

Fortunately the Weather is improving and we will get a few more outside days.

Haven't had to do much to the Piper since we arrived. Did have to adjust the water pressure regulated as it was shipped closed. Also, got the Directv setup quickly on Thursday to all four TVs.

Has been a good trip so far.

What is the Direct TV setup you got? Where did you get it? What is it composted of, and to use it, does it increase your monthly bill? Thanks

I bought this kit on Amazon.

DIRECTV SWiM Mobile RV Portable Satellite Dish Tripod Kit SWM SL3S https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XKETIEW..._-zewxb4AZ05VW

And also the multi split...

DirecTv MSPLIT4R1-03 Approved WNC 4-Way Wide Band SWM Splitter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BW60R68..._4AewxbE050MTF

We use it with out boxes from home. We have the Genie system on three TVs and a stand alone HD DVR on the fourth. We brought them all.

The satellite input is setup to work on the three indoor TVs so we used the genie there. For the outdoor TV, I ran a cable from the splitter to the curb side basement door to connect the the fourth box. My plan is to run it behind the wall in the basement and add a cable outlet. The outlet that is there is for park cable only.

The satellite is easy to dial in and we hit all three birds within about 5 minutes. The cable from the satellite goes into the input of the splitter and then the cable to the main box (the SWiM receiver) goes from the red port in the splitter to the Main Satellite input on the camper. The other two go from the splitter to the front and back satellite inputs on the camper. I made up some short pieces of cable for this. The splitter and the short pieces of cable are still connected to the camper. All I have to do the next time is run the cable from the dish to the splitter and dial the dish in.

Works great, and we got to watch Baseball all weekend long.

Yes we were in Gunpoint. We go back next Wednesday for a HOA campout. It is our favourite park.
