I use the chrome stem covers shown below. The base fits snugly in the indentation in the wheel and the TPMS sender causes a tight fit of the cover over the rubber stem. Over 5k miles and no sign of distress on the rubber stems.

Fantastic temp fix, or maybe longer term. I need that for a while. Stupid Discount Tires put rubber stems on my brand new camper tires a year ago. Didn't catch it for a couple of months until I went to put the tires sensors on it. It's a real hassle to bring it back so this would be good. Where did you get them?

I used the factory rubber stems with my TST monitor for one season before switching to metal stems. All the wheels had marks where the sensors had bent the rubber valve stems over and rubbed the wheel during travel. I figured it wasn't a good thing to have the rubber valve stems bending around that much.

My TSTTRUCK TPMS arrived yesterday. I actually called them and inquired about metal vs. rubber valve stems. They said the ones I got (model TM507SE) should work fine with rubber stems. That said I agree that metal would be better.
However, I really like the chrome stem covers idea.
How are those held in place in the wheel? Doesn't look like they screw on.
Do the wheels need to be rebalanced after installation?

They are just sandwiched between the tpms cap and wheel.

The 507 sensors themselves threw the balance off on the 5 I use by 0.5 oz. I would re-balance with everything installed.

I ordered the chrome covers for the rubber stems off ebay for 4.95 free shipping. Then I went down to the local Les Schwab (only tire place in town) they want 13.50 a tire to balance if I bring them in. Not doing that taking them to Ontario Or for 8.00 a tire in any case I'm having the tires rebalanced after I get the covers installed

Its only 17 miles and no sales tax. This local Les Schwab has gone crazy with their pricing they are loosing allot of business with locals driving to Ontario Or because of the new pricing.

If you are going to take it to the tire store to have them balanced, why not just get the correct valve stems installed at the same time?
My eezrv tpms sensors are on rubber stems. I have checked them a few times and see no issues. However, I didn't think of the metal covers and will add them this week until I get new tires.

I think the covers are chrome plastic, I don't want to spend anymore on these tires and rims as I'm going to change before next season and may go to 15" tires so that I can get an E range tire. I'll give the rubber with chrome covers a try if they don't work I'll change.

Fair enough. As I said, I'm gonna do the same thing except I'm not going to balance mine. If I were to take them to get balanced, I would get new stems. I guess I could pull them off and put them on the bubble balancer at home, but don't see the need.

I think it depends on which sensors you purchase.
If you get the flow through, they stick out farther and are heavier.
Probably not good for rubber stems.
If you get the non-flow through and remove the anti-theft covers, they hardly stick out and the weight is negligible. That's what I have done and I also have the chrome stem covers. I've got about 4000 miles on them with no signs of distress. I have periodically looked under the chrome cover to see if the stem is stressing and see no difference from the day the TPMS was installed.
I never rebalanced either.
