[QUOTE=MarinesWife;1461156]Brought home our trailer! We were fairly certain we could get it in the driveway, backed up, and into the spot we picked for it. We didn't yell at each other once ... hallelujah! Now that we know where the turn spots are, the next time we come home should be a lot easier.

My husband pulling up with the new toy being pulled by my lovely 2005 Ford E-350 Van.

This is a GOOD day!!! Enjoy your new camper...I'm sorry RV...I mean TT...no baby!

Replaced original mattress with one on Amazon. Picked this one out because a lot of people in the reviews complained it was too firm which means it will be like our Tempurpedic at home. I was right! It came in a box all rolled up and vacuum sealed. I laid it out removed the plastic and it is almost fully expanded 24 hrs later.

BTW: Those are the finished new drawers I added on either side of the bed that I posted about earlier.

Plan to install on Sunday when the weather dries up a bit. Can't wait!

Fabricated a wiring harness so I can use a data logger to record water pressure changes as pump cycles on and off with and without water pressure tank. Still need to install the transducer and wait for end of freezing weather before making the measurements.

What did you do to your camper today?

Took out the weird sized "RV King" mattress, cut down the bed base and installed a Sleep Number queen mattress.

Our trailer parks on a cement pad against the side of the garage. A 15A outlet has been more than sufficient to run the fridge and keep the battery charged, but since I've run out of mods to do for the time being, it seemed like a good time to venture outside of the trailer. Tonight, I just finished installing a 30A power panel, a project I've been wanting to get to for some time. Too late here to take a photo, but the link below is the RV power panel from Lowe's, a nice small package and an easy install. ........ next?

Started to install a rear view camera on the back of my TT.

Story so far...

I didn't want a wired system but during research found that unless you buy a very expensive unit you might get interference or intermittent video feed, even then you still might.

So I decided to cut down on the distance for the transmitter by wiring the camera from the back to the transmitter in the front. I took a 25' analog home surveillance cable and ran it from the rear cabinet through the A/C duct to the front cabinet. I will secure it to the inside edge of the duct with a dab of expansion foam to prevent the cable from interfering with the vents.

I wanted to mount the camera up high so a license plate camera was out of the question and after looking at a plethora of other rear view cameras, bracket mounted, flush mounted, etc, I decided to again go with a home surveillance waterproof CCD dome camera. The good thing is it directly connects to the cable.

I drilled a hole through the rear of the TT just below the aluminum frame (so at least two of the screws would be in metal) and mounted the dome camera. (you can see how the factory doesn't seem to care about measurements as the marker lights are not even close to being centered) Running the wires through the hole to the cable inside the overhead cabinets and secured all wiring.

At the other end I connected and secured the wireless transmitter. I have a 12v source in that cabinet from the couch overhead light to power the transmitter. (pics to come)

In the TV I had purchased a dual channel Bluetooth rear view mirror and wired both feeds to a SPDT rocker switch on the dash. When I push the switch down it shows the view from my license plate camera for hitching and when I press it in the up position it powers on my wireless receiver to receive signal from the TT. I wired it that way because these wireless components can get very warm and by only having it powered while using it cuts down on overheating. I mounted the transmitter in the TT to a heatsink. (pics to come)

I went from over 40' of transmitting to under 20' and the picture is clear and stable.

There has been rather a lot of blather on this site as to whether it helps to install a water pressure tank. I want to measure behavior of water system with and without the tank.

And yes, I'm a retired electrical engineer/truck driver/factory worker/landing craft operator/IT geek.

I think results will vary based largely on the size. One of the little plastic ones that are for RV pumps and screws online are minimal results. The large metal residential I think you'll see results.
