What did you do to your camper today?

We took our second trip over Easter with our NTU Roo rig and really enjoyed the fruits of the labor invested in it since December. Had a perfect weekend with delightful weather and quality time shared with friends and our kids. The campground was only half full and the traffic on 81 & 77 was very light when we traveled.

Funny thing was the gas mileage on the Suburban improved from 10.5 to 13.8 mpg since the first trip. I did go up 10 psi on tv air pressure and 5 psi on trailer. Better quality gas? I can't imagine the new radiator, water pump, hoses and drive belt would help it.

Installed a battery bypass switch. I elected to mount it on the top due to concerns about space underneath the cover. Probably could have recessed it, but I'm happy with this configuration.

Today I'll start prepping for a trip from Georgia up to Point Pelee, Ontario, Canada.

What is that electronic device right behind the battery? I assume some of of battery monitor conditioner?

I have a small solar panel and I have it connected to see how effectively it will top up the camper battery. We have a trip to a National Park planned and no hook ups there. Hoping it will keep the battery charged enough to run the control board on the fridge. Wish now I had gotten a larger solar panel though, just got a 13W folding one from Harbor Freight.

Ah I had Solar on my 2015 Roo 23ikss but never used it, we also have not camped off a grid yet but something to consider at least for the battery

I learned the hard way. We were camping out west a couple of years ago, and Grand Canyon National Park campground had no hookups, which we knew before going. I "assumed" the camper battery would have enough charge to keep the fridge going if that is all I used. No lights, etc. That wasn't the case, and it was touch and go for a bit. I had to tether the TV to the camper and run it a while to try to keep the battery charged. I think for the upcoming trip to Cades Cove we might take a big cooler and if things get touchy I'll just buy ice and transfer stuff to the ice chest.

Upgraded the bathroom. Vessel sink, faucet, quartz countertop. New cabinets are built from WORD, not mdf.
Removed the booth and installed a table, chairs, and made room for a recliner. I stow the recliner while in transit, pull it out when I get set up.

Installed the "bed frame steel" bracing for the water tank on our 2504s. Bolted long angle pieces on the front and rear tank supports. Then I used short pieces to tie it all together and also to keep the tank from sliding side to side. Before I did this mod the tank had not moved, now it can't. Now I can fill up the tank without fear of the front support collapsing and dropping the tank on the road. Jay

Salem312, Is That a new material? I've never built any thing out of "WORD"! LOL! Very nice job. We just came back from a week trip and now know that the RV style faucet in the bathroom has to go.

Brought it home from the shop, after 3 weeks to replace the leaf springs under warranty.

Brought it home for spring! 12v battery installed, 3 inch foam top on the bed, inspected and sealed gaps in roof caulk around radio ant. and front edge (no visible damage), washed roof and sides, tested running AC off double 2000w generators from Northern Tools-worked great, considering going to 2-6v golf cart batteries and 100w solar panel for boondocking. Retire in 3 weeks!!!
