Thanks OC now that makes sense to me as a reason for mounting in the lower portion, may try that when I install one on my flagstaff.

I don't think I've had a cooling issue but going to Hunting Island SC late summer and I know that will give it a work out. Ours did OK last trip to the coast and did OK while in Florida on several trips but...will fans help it cool FASTER? Sometimes when we turn on the fridge for a trip it takes a good 12 to 16 hours for it to stabilize. Also, would a fan or fans help the fridge last longer? I just put in the "Snip-a-Tip" mod for thermostat and love it. Figure next step is fan mounted on the coils inside. Maybe adding the cooling fans in back should also be on the list.

First run out in new rig. Long weekend. Managed to get a few things done.
New spouts on the low water points. now I just turn the knob instead of getting soaked.
Put in the towel rack and TP holder. Not sure why these were not installed upon arrival!
Wifi Back up camera setup and works great.
Quick connect propane hose for BBQ.
Battery disconnect switch
Solar trickle charger installed on top of the propane cover.
Shelving liners installed
repositioned the water pump to gain more under-seat space.
Installed a drain hose on the hot water heater. No more hot showers when I take the bung out! Just turn the knob and it drains away without splashing.
Next the DW wants a pantry built for the closet so she can access the basics better. Cupboards above the dinette are too high for her.

Ours seems to go from off to cool in about 6 hrs with the fans going. Even when the frig is in the sun, the inside temp stays about 34°-37°.

Thanks. Ya, I think I better add fans in the back as well as inside. Our freezer starts getting cool pretty quick but it takes forever to get to the fridge. Once there it does good though.

I also have dual fans inside the frig. to aid circulation.

I took the spare tire out of the basement and put it in the TV bed with a cable lock. I then removed the mounting bracket in the basement. This has provided a lot more storage space in the basement.

Lubed the wheel bearings and did a cursory check of the brakes. Ready for Thursday.
Almost forgot. After our last outing I had filled the gray tank and added some ridx to see if it would clean the level sensors. Just emptied it and we have an indicated empty tank.
While that was going on I also hit the manual jacks screws with some of the dry graphite lube as well.

Got some stuff organized in the wardrobe, took inventory of what is needed for the upcoming camping trip, extended the awning... just to see if it worked!

I ordered 20 tons of #57 stone and 20 tons of reclaimed crushed concrete (pretty much the same as crusher run) to fix the washed out portions of my gravel drive.
How does this relate to the camper? Until I fix the road, I can't move the camper. Getting ready for a 3 week, 3000 mile trip in June. I can't wait!
Word of advice: think twice about building a house in the boonies atop a steep hill.

Was up to the Hidden Valley KOA in Milton,Wi for Veteran's weekend. The weather was not at all good. 3 days of cold, rain and high winds. I adapted and conquered though.

Had a beer and figured out how to listen to the TV through the stereo speakers! Then had another beer and just listened to the stereo !

Installed the new Goodyear Endurance tires on the 5er after giving them a liberal coating of 303. Torqued to 110lb/ft. Will leave the hub caps off and re-torque & 303 them about every month until we leave for Florida and then re-torque them every 75-100 miles until we get there. Put 3 of the old Marathons on our utility trailer and the 4th one in the shed. Should be the end of tire buying for me for a while.
