I use the same type of strap for my awning except I secure it to Home Depot 5 gallon buckets filled with water and a lid when I'm ready to travel empty the buckets and we're good to go.

The only adjustment item or repair on my Heartland Bighorn was a slide adjustment. 10 mins and two wrenches and are are good now. 3 more weeks booked this summer!

Made a few repairs to some little things that were starting to loosen up. Nothing major. Pulled an outlet that had cracked from what seems like overtightening. Ordered a replacement with a couple integrated USB ports as that is where we usually charge our stuff.

Re-attached the trim on the front wall of the unit as it had wiggled out of about all of its nails.

Finally, repaired one of the bedroom drawer slides as it had stopped automatically retracting the drawer and holding it closed like it used to. The drawer slide mechanisms are pretty interesting.

Finally getting around to installing the Old Coot awning poles! Got them painted, now waiting on the paint to dry....

Also went crazy on Amazon the other day. Ordered all new brake rotors and pads for the new truck. Will tackle that Wednesday. Ordered some "Wash Wax All". Ordered one of those zip off awning shades. Forgot to order two additional TPMS sensors. Guess we will make this trip with two tires on the truck missing sensors.

Once the awning poles are done, I'll be installing the plug in the bed of the new truck for the fiver.

One note on the awning poles. Had to drill additional holes further down the upper pole. My Awning or RV must be much taller!

Unplugged it, started it, and with DW drove to lunch. Talked with her about driving and she was eager on a county two lane road. She took the wheel and within 10 minutes was comfortable, and wanted to drive it to her sisters house who has not seen the RV yet, so off she drove !

She got county road time, state road time, and residential driving time !

We also exercised the generator during our go nowhere drive around....LOL !

I have been looking for a lightweight table to place next to my grill but most I have found are too flimsy, too heavy or too many steps to open or fold.

Found an old 70's style fold up, vinyl covered table at a garage sale for $5.

The table top was warped and torn so I removed it and used it's outline to cut a new top out of a plywood veneer (which I had leftover from the camper remodel). Sealed it, screwed it down and put several coats of polyurethane over screws and all.

Now I have a very light table that is easy to set up and take down. Best of all it fits with a couple of inches to spare into my outside basement compartment door.

Installed new iRV 66 stereo. My 3rd one. DVD would go nuts after 30 minutes of operation. My FR extended warranty expired 3 wks ago.

We are currently reinforcing our belief that we don't ever want to live in SoCal again. Driving from San Diego to north of LA. 4-5 lanes each direction and we find ourselves standing still every 15-20 minutes.

Put new carpet on both sets of entry steps. Added 1x26x1/8 inch steel cross supports to prevent side to side movement of the steps. Had previously installed Camco support stands under the bottom step so now they are movement free. Can't post a pix since the forum has banned Photobucket.

Washed the roof and outside. glued a couple of moldings and filled the water tank to get ready for a birthday party weekend for my daughter at the lake. Boat is ready too.
