I'm sure that there's a lot to be said for having a w/d onboard, especially for a family of full-timers, but using 8-12 gallons of water per load times 2 to 3 loads per day adds up to 16-36 gallons of fresh water per day, and 16-36 gallons of grey water per day. Would it make more sense to stop at a laundromat for 2 hours once per week, commandeer a couple of machines and knock it all out at once with their water and sewer taking the beating instead of you and your rig?
For full hookup and even water/electric sites, we greatly prefer the in-rig laundry. We run one load overnight, another when we first get up, and then maybe another at either lunch or dinner time. It sounds worse than it is- except for the water usage.

Oh, like I said...I get it completely. I was just thinking that by subtracting a bit of convenience you could get things done faster and more efficiently. But were I f/t, I'd want it onboard too.

Put on a new set of Goodyear Marathons and greased the bearings on camper... all set for our trip to Ashville for the Overland Expo East at the Biltmore Estate. Weather is supposed to be perfect for a fall campout.
Started winterizing my TT today. Blew out the water lines (man was I winded) ran some antifreeze thru system. Flushed hot water tank. Fixed fresh water fill vent hose. Blew out coils on AC and inspected and oiled bearing. Washed roof. Checked wheel bearings. Filled some holes with foam or steel wool. Caulked some gaps in finish wood and tub surround. Set up auger for harvest. Oops wrong forum lol [emoji13]

Getting toy hauler ready for winter. Installed a blue flame propane heater today.
Mounted it on the wall, plumbed in propane from under the trailer. Used the quick connector that FR put on for outside use. Replumbed line from the tee under the center, went down along frame, didn't want to deal with wheel wells or opening closed belly. Went up just in front wheel well, put quick connector just above floor and run a hose from the heater behind wheel well to connector. Checked for leaks, couldn't find any so fired it up. Boy that's going to be so much nicer in the winter, that little furnace really is lacking when it gets down to and below freezing at night.

I think I would add a 90D fitting so the hose could lay flat on the shelf or whatever it is.
Did a couple of things in the bunk room- hung a coat rack:
And hung a shelf for drawers on the wall for some better organization to make room and tidy up the kid’s school work.

Definitely a plus but I have a question. When you disconnect the hose is the propane blocked at the connection?

For the shelf, I was poking around and it feels like I can add some L-brackets that will actually bite the the aluminum framing at the edge of the slide. I'll put a pair of them under it, just to give it a bit of more support.
For the coat rack, I'll probably not change anything. We've had a coat rack in our bedroom for a long time. Of course, the wife and I are easier on it than the kids are but we have way too much stuff hanging from it. So we'll see.

I streamlined the black flush line to make it lighter and more efficient. Not sure the cost but it gave me something to do and allowed me to replenish my supplies. Not as fancy of a mod as some are doing but it's a start for me.

“except the money” ... no kidding. My wife did some laundry at the last campground and spent $23 for a week’s worth of laundry!
Getting it all done at once is why we went without for so long. We/she likes the idea of just spending a chunk of time once a week.

I just ordered the SPP6 Hard Start Cap for the AC. Cleaned out the trailer (3 boxes of GrandKids toys from the last trip) and started prepping it for a trip in couple of weeks to Lake Guntersville State Park.

Hi All! We have a 2018 Forester 2251SLE. Our first tests of it told us that we would like more room in the shower. The semi rigid shower door could make that a bit of an issue for us. So DW came up with an idea. If we got a short tension rod and a weighted curtain, we could add three or four inches of elbow room! It worked great and was under $20!!!
