Picked up some of the warranty parts to install myself (I just don't trust the dealer with even the most minor repairs), only to find out they only ordered ONE of the two shades with broken strings. Installed the one pleated shade.

Winterized... still have plans to get out for some Oct./Nov. camping.

he or she is going to be using a very sharp knife and cutting the awning off... folding it up and (oh wait it already is folded up) marching it to the end of the lane and depositing it for pickup.

I've salvage the metal at least then it might pay for 10% of the costs of a new one.

and I've been there and done that in a freak rain event while we were siting at another trailer behind us.

Dropped ours off at a local dealership to see about getting 6 decals, one warped bathroom door replaced, the satellite line which is shorted, rear steps replaced because the lower step will not sit level, the gas gauge for eth 30 gallon tank replaced, the radius screen door replaced as well as installing the second Mandatory Option LED motion sensor light installed.


then its off to inside storage for the winter.

Had the furnace on last night. This morning, the Mopeka 024-1001 sensor app reported the tank as empty, so I swapped it out. Weighing the tank tells me it is 42% full. I guess I'm going to be rethinking whether the sensor's worth continuing to use.

I also found a rodent nest under the tank cover...

Over the last couple of days, I finally finished the install of my LowPro LockDown bases on the bumper. The generators will be as secure as I can get them while setup at camp.



The generators were pretty loud inside when just sitting on the base but quieted down a lot when I properly installed the base plate onto the generator. I might still get some rubber mats and install them between the base and the bumper. We’ll see.

With 2 weeks of running, I didn’t have any issue with the heat from exhaust impacting the second generator.

Though, I did have one incident with carbon monoxide inside. No one was back there when the carbon monoxide alarm went off. I don’t know why it happened just once with about 80 hours of use.

Otherwise, I reinstalled my sewer storage box on the bumper. I initially installed this 2 years ago. I check it every trip before pulling out and only once did I have to tighten down the zip ties. This time I used thicker/longer zip ties.

I cleaned mine up and put it behind the fence as my mom was staying in it while the fires here in NorCal had her displaced . Thank god her neighborhood was spared . I feel terrible for the folks that lost everything I cant even imagine being in that situation .

Nah, 5” bolts and a flat plate to hold it in place. Then backed up with self-tapping screws that are hidden by the generators when they’re installed.

The generators ride in the back of the truck and the bases are empty when traveling.

Nothing to the camper, but had to make an emergency trip with Mardy to get our utility trailer. He was on the way to pick up the Baby Grand frame from the powder coater over in sw Charlotte when the right spring broke off both ends of the spring and let the axle swing under the trailer and punctured a tire. From the looks of the spring ends, it appears that the spring was fractured over 50% on both ends of the main leaf. Good thing it happened when it was empty and he was only going about 20 mph. The trailer has to go to Asheville in Dec to haul Kayla's furniture back home. The Man upstairs was watching over Mardy today thank goodness.

I set my generators at the aft corner of the toyhauler and position one of those cheap 20” box fans where they blow the exhaust away. They do a really good job.

Unfortunately I don’t think I have room to carry a 20” fan, but I have been reading on DIY Genturi solutions. I think I can rig something up to get the exhaust from them up and over the camper.

Washed 5 sides of the trailer at my MIL's house. Finally gave her a tour. She liked it. Then blew the water out of the lines in case we get an early freeze. Still need to dump a bit of anitfreeze in the drains. DW wants to go "somewhere" in November...

Crawled under the R-Pod and traced out wiring from batteries to converter.

For the life of me, I fail to understand using the frame of the trailer as a return current path from the tongue to just under the converter, a run of three or four feet.

Not today but last weekend, I started the winterization process. I emptied it of all food, paper products, toiletries and bed linens. I also blew out the lines with compressed air and filled in with antifreeze. There are a few minor repairs I want to do inside before I close it up and cover it until spring.

Cars have been doing it for a hundred years.

3 ft x 1000 trailers is 3000 ft of wire you don't have to buy.

Motor vehicles have been doing it forever, and it has been less than reliable forever, especially as the vehicles age.

The cost of the wire doesn't touch the cost of drilling the frame, making extra crimp connections, and bolting them down.

I think that sometime next spring, I'm going to revamp that portion of the wiring. The project will include shortening up the battery to converter runs, replacing the negative run with as continuous as possible AWG 4 wire, and figuring out a reasonable way to get connections and the 50A circuit breaker shielded from mud, dust, and whatever else gets kicked up from the road.
