A bit of a sad day. Repaired some minor stuff, finished emptying it out and cleaned it up. Dropped it off at the Dealer and put it on Consignment. Lot's of memories in that trailer, 48 States, 30+ National Parks and loads of fun.

I put the battery back into it and checked everything to see if it still works. I also replaced the gas spring that holds the door open. I was going to install the Maxair vent covers that I got for Christmas but had more urgent things to do so had to postpone that until next weekend.

May i ask why? Not to get personal, but you do get to keep the memories, sounds like you did alot of traveling.

Finally got around to checking the generator since getting the Sunseeker out of storage a week ago. Three quick primes and it cranked right off. Gotta love Seafoam! A can with every 20 gallons in the tank - generator starts like it's run all its life.

Started loading for a trip.

Who would have thought it would take two days to load everything one person needs. All day today and most of tomorrow too.

Of course I plan on leaving Tuesday and might be home around the first of June.

Definitely have to hit the scale before hitting the road.

Took the cover off,DH put the battery back in and plugged us in the house plug so I had lights and radio.I cleaned any dust from winter, brought the totes of stuff in from the house. Sorted and rearranged everything from the totes and the cubbards. Took empty totes back upstairs in the house. Only things left is to go thru the clothes I left in there and restock my closet of clothing ,clean out and rearrange the underneath storage and add the stuff from the garage we took out for the winter, stock it with food and hopefully we can go in a couple weeks when the DH has a weekend off. WHOO HOO so excited!!

Made a set of landing gear stabilizers from harbor freight racheting load locks and a piece of uni-strut. They seem to help a bit, will know more after camping this next weekend.Click image for larger version

Pulled factory exterior speakers for upgraded sound

Everyone,

It was finally nice enough outside to complete my exterior speaker upgrade.

I figured I'd show pics since there are not too many pics if you search the topic.

The key for me was the Mortite butyl tape for sealing and weatherproofing the hole around the speakers. The service manager at my dealership told me that's what FR uses at the factory. The tape ends up being a much cleaner finish than trying to apply silicone or no-sag Dicor. If you try the Polk 5.25 inch marine speakers, be careful of the covers because they're no as tough as the originals. No LEDS like the factory originals, but, they sound so much better. I cracked one of the upgrade covers and Polk customer service sent me extra covers at no charge.
The bent pick tool is great for breaking the seal around the original speakers. Cleanup was easy with mineral spirits and a plastic caulk removal tool.

Hope this helps.

Happy trails,

CTSS

Jeeptchr, those look every bit as strong as the BALs I installed but at a fraction of the price. They will be easier to adjust too. I need a wrench that cinches a bolt where as no tools for yours and you can pretension it. Nice job! One of those “wish I thought of that” things.

Thanks, but I take no credit. I shamelessly copied the idea. I did a bunch of internet surfing looking for a solution and researching before I found where a guy had used them. It was a huge thread on how they weren't as good as "strongarms" and people saying the ratchet would strip out... I am thinking I wouldn't mind a bit finer adjustment (maybe a threaded heim or just a drilled all-thread/nut setup at one end) but I figured for a couple of hrs and less than 50 bucks it was worth a try.

The wife was cleaning the camper when I was setting them up, she said it seemed to be better than it was. I'm also using a set of Roto-Chocks I got off of the forumn here so between the two I'm hoping it takes some of the shake out. Now I've just got to figure out how to do the rear electric stabilizer and the other angle on the front jacks.

Do you have stabilizers running down the frame from the landing gear? Even with wheel chocks it aids the front to back rocking.

Front steering damper, rear shocks, new running boards(much nicer then stock), six new maypoops, and finally freshener water system for trip down south on Wednesday. Also 4 new maypoops for the car trailer. Forgot new tinted door glass with built in shade.

Just be careful and know there is a limit. If you go too tight the sprocket will deform the notches it rides in & then climb the next notch. I ended up filing the teeth a little deeper so they get a better bite.
They do work though. I have one that goes from the entry stair down to the leg and that helps forward to aft.

No, I haven't made those yet, but they are on the list of things to do.
