What did you do to your camper today?

Didn't do anything to the camper but I did finish my backyard carport for the TT. I now have on site storage for my TT, the popup that our children use, and my Scamp TT that I use for a deer hunting shack. Now I have to run electricity to it. It is only 30 feet from my garden shed that has power. 15 amp is enough because we will never run the A/C there, we would pull it up next to the garage with a 30 amp outlet that is totally level.

I got around to installing the DW and my 32nd Anniversary present to ourselves;
Picked up from Amazon as an open box sale and took 15 minutes to install. Even came with a cover and possibly the best thing I’ve installed

This weekend was spent on the cleaning phase of getting her ready for the winter... All that dirt and crud is from after I cleaned it last spring... She is all clean with a real heavy coat of wax, Last spring I only gave her a lite single coat. I had a tree frog helping me when I was on the roof. Next weekend or one after that it will get winterized. Sad times for us campers in the North.

Installed 4 new Carlisle Radial Trail HD Trailer Tire - 235/80R16 tires on my camper. Still had the original tires on from 2014 so I thought that it was about time to replace them. Getting ready for some more camping next month. Replaced them myself with my own tire changer and balancer. I had over 4 years and 26,000 miles out of the original tires so I figured it was about time for a new set.

Replaced our standard shower head with the Oxygenics "Fury" model. We'll test it out on our final trip in a couple of weeks.

Seadog,our trim pieces that you replaced and painted were "White" like our vertical slide trim! I painted our trim pieces in that location the same color as the horizontal bottom trim color! Yours looks good Black ,ours looked odd. White! Youroo! !

Sealed around the outside shower, and at the lower beltline where the flashing and fiberglass meet on the V-nose, this is where the clear sealant had cracked. Funny thing, one of my buddies who coincidently has a Rockwood V of the same model had the cracks in exactly the same places, so I did his as well since I had half of a tube of the Geocel Proflex Rv left. Both of the TTs are on their 4th season of use. If you are running a V-nose, do take a close look at yours. It's right about floor height on the other side of the exterior wall!

Checked the torque and air pressure in tires.
Installed a shelf in the cabinet above the dinette per DW's request.
Adjusted a cabinet door hinge that had vibrated loose.
Brought the Camco hangers home for the next trip, next week. Headed to the Davis Mountains.

This weekend I noticed water coming out of me freshwater tank inlet. The check valve on my pump must be bad so I just installed a ball valve to shut off the water going to the pump. When I looked under my fifth wheel this weekend I noticed something almost poking a hole through the under belly material. Today I took it off and found that one of the support brackets to the fresh water tank was never attached and was just laying on the material. Finally bounced into a position to push through. I also fixed that. I'm glad I caught it. I wouldn't want to drop my tank while driving.

So this weekend I was at a flea market on rt 209 in Bushkill PA and found the oldschool water faucet end for $1 and that stainless screen for $1. What a steal I cant believe the water pressure I have now. That factory end had more screens and water savers than anything. Today when I got home from work I scrubbed my roof with dycor for the second time of the year then wash n wax the whole trailer. Looks brand new again. Tomorrow just put the protectant on the roof.

This is the stuff I use. It works good but u have to really scrub it to get roof back to new. It suds up really good. Just keep sides of trailer real wet and wash whole trailer with good wash n wax right after because the cleaner will streak the sides if it drys on. I do it twice a year. Once in spring and once in the fall.

A simple bottle of blue Dawn dishwashing soap works pretty well too. And probably a lot cheaper.

20's and snow coming to Colorado next week so winterized her at the house. I noticed my two RV batteries had some junk around the terminals so cleaned all of those up and sprayed some battery term protectant all over them. I, also, checked the electrolyte levels and saw a few were low so topped them off with distilled water...and amazed at how much it actually took to raise the level up just a little. (So battery check is going on my Spring/Fall checklists)


So I get the camper lines all blown out with my air compressor and filled with RV antifreeze and parked her in my spot at the Air Force Academy RV lot. Got all covers on the tires and when I went to power down the stabilizers no power. (They always work even if the master power switch inside is off.) So checked all the battery cables and on the panel inside all lights came on for battery charge, saying that it's full....but, still, no power to the stabilizers. (Never seen that before)


So I'll be going back out to check on the batteries and might just pull them and hook up to a charger in my garage then take them down to O'Reilly's to get them checked on their machine. They are 5 years old but always camp with power but they did get down very low once when I left the little light on on the front power tongue jack for a couple of weeks. Probably just end up buying two new ones at our Interstate battery store...will keep an eye out for sales. (I hope they have maintenance free RV batteries.)

Wintereized minus the last wash and roof conditioning. Weather has turned to garbage here with cold temps and snow. and while I want to maintain, Im not freezing my ass off to do it anymore. main thing is the lines have RV antifreeze in them

Last time doing it, hope to sell in the spring and get out of RVing for awhile. Im tired of all this work, repairs and the like for something that sits 11 months of the year

If you can't use it enough to justify the time and expense, selling is completely understandable. Unfortunate, though.

If you're interested, most KOAs have "Camping Cabins" you can rent and some state parks and private campgrounds may have yurts or cabins or even rental trailers. That would allow you to camp only occasionally at much less expense than owning a depreciating asset like a trailer.
