I've said this before but these are our experiences after 40+ years...
Fresh Cab... mice chewed through the bag and ate the stuff and made nests out of the bag material.
Irish Spring... mice ate it and crapped next to the places where it was positioned.
Essence of Peppermint oil... mice drug the soaked cotton balls out of the cups and off to never never land.
Bounce sheets... mice made nests from them.
Rodent-B-Gone granules sprinkled around rig... mice still got in.
Coyote Pi$$... mice still got in.
Tomcat bait... something ate the bait but we still had signs of mice.
Electronic pest devices... used electricity... still had mice.
Moth Balls... mice crapped right next to them.
Glue traps... dragged away never to be found.
Victor Brand Mouse Traps... caught many mice! This is the ONLY thing that has worked for us. You have to check them weekly. We tried cheap Dollar Store mouse traps and set them next to the Victor. The cheap ones would be sprung (often not sprung) and the bait gone. The Victors always had a mouse.

Ball bearing mouse traps really work the best. But I don't get along with them but lucky for me the neighbors have several.

Smoothest running trap you can find. Too much lubricating of the balls means more traps to catch more mice!

Finally took it out after we bought it two months ago!
Two months since our walk through and it took us a while to remember how to get the heat started and how the TV worked. All good now and we’ve had a great first full day.

Question about winterization. With the built in winterization system do you need to run antifreeze through the black tank flush and the city water connection?

Went down to 28 degrees last night. Figured today would be a good day to winterize.
Note to self. Open a faucet before removing the Water Heater Anode to drain.
Especially if I don't want a spurt of cold water in my face.

While the pink is being run through, take the screen off the city water inlet and using a screwdriver, push the button in the centre. Make sure you stand to the side as you do so or else you’ll be wearing it.
The black isn’t as important to put antifreeze in since it’s an open system. It’s really only the anti-siphon you have to worry about. If you have the easy means to run the antifreeze through it (my outside shower reaches it so I was able to easily get an adapter for mine) then it’ll help. But otherwise, a quick shot of air with a blow out plug should work just as well.

What you're suggesting is exactly what I did 2 weeks ago while getting ready for a trip. The backed up pressure ended up blowing the internal spring past the sealing surface for the check valve so it cannot function and can not be repaired. I ended up installing a new brass check valve on the other end of the inlet hose by the filter canister.
I'd recommend DON'T probe inside the water inlet connection. Use an adapter and use compressed air to blow it out.
