Ok, guess I'm a newbie on this. Can someone explain the purpose of this upgrade?

More like a home toilet. Ceramic, can get it in higher height, takes standard toilet seats. No creaky toilet seats. Others may chime in on additional advantages.

I call it a "Sunday morning Sports section" toilet. It's a Man Cave toilet.

If you're from hard water areas it's a lot easier to keep clean.

Jealous trailer

There is too much snow here for camping, so we went to the local RV show, same one where we found our current TT and traded up from a tiny Jayco two years ago. Our trailer might have been jealous as we looked at all the fancy new models, but in the end we are quite happy with what we have, and that suits us fine. Now, if winter would only end soon...

Johnfort, was your original toilet plastic? I think the 320 is elongated, not round, correct. I would definitely prefer that shape but my DW doesn’t like that shape on the ones I’ve installed at home.

Not your average sports fan!

Babock, here is my fan. Actual current draw is 57ma @13.4vdc. (No, I did not reverse the numbers this time.....LOL) Measured with a Fluke meter. Although it is rated for 24vdc, running it at a lower speed makes it even quieter, runs slower, and less air. Fan is actually rated at 54.4cfm, so at RV voltages, I am guessing maybe less than 1/2 that?

First pic is of the fan itself, 2nd is of the way it is in the fridge. I left a bit of extra wire to the fan in case I want to move it, or swing it out of the way to clean the drip-tray.

Upper right of 2nd pic is the ‘tip’. I left the old fin clip in place, as I “just might need that thermistor” for a future project....lol. Looking at the pic, I see I need to tywrap the old wire up and out of sight.

Yes, the OEM toilet has a round bowl and all plastic. It's fairly decent, but creaks. The 320 is similar to the home style elongated, tall and has a wooden seat. Probably like the you installed at home. Most guys prefer the elongated version.

Thanks. The fans I am planning on using will be speed controlled fans so they will have a 3rd wire. Much easier to control one of those from a micro controller than turning on and off fan plus you can control the RPM.

Where do you get the power source for the fan without drilling a hole.

You have to drill a hole for what I am planning to do. Of course my fan won't be on continuously unless the fridge is actually in a cooling cycle. No need to waste power when it is not needed.

If this fan will be inside the fridge, you may wish to keep it on all the time. The air temperature in the fridge may stratify if there is no cooling occurring and no fan running.

When cooling is occurring, the cooled air becomes more dense and will drop to the bottom and the less dense warmer air will rise, hence no stratification. The fan simply improves this air flow. But with no cooling and no fan, there is nothing to cause the air to flow.

True...maybe default it to run for a minute every 15 minutes if the fridge hasn't turned on in the meantime. Many AC systems in homes do this with their fan.

I like the idea of of 1 minute out of 10 or 15, or something like that.

The main idea of the fan is to circulate the cold air to avoid warm and cold spots so it really doesn't need to run 24/7. I've been through two of the pre-made double fans that mount to the fins in 3 years since I keep my fridge on the whole season from the first trip to the last. A timed run would save some wear and tear on the fan.

Last year, toward the end of the season, my fins iced up big time with cakes of ice and I'm not sure what caused i since I've never gotten more than some frost on them.

Ray
Ray check the refrigerator rubber door seal for damage, refigeror door not closing tight all the way around or if it is dirty leting moist air to leak into refrigerator. Is the drain tray under the the evaperator fins drain pluged? Moisture from the air takes a lot energy to remove it from the fridge. This makes it run longer and can cause it to freeze up. Is the fridge temp set to low?

Hope this helps Tim
