Acquired another set of Easy-Up corner poles (gotta love thunderstorms). They were slightly smaller in diameter and about six inches taller than my existing awning pole setup. Made new brackets for the smaller size and installed LED lights on three sides. These new poles are powder coated while my originals were painted and starting to show scratches.

I bought 4 today for $8. Don't have a clue where they are going, but had to have them. Even come with the batteries.

Explain how they help in a storm? My thought is wind could be strong enough when awning is tied to ground that it would weaken where it attaches to camper (gutter)

When I mentioned thunderstorm I was referring to one that destroyed an EasyUp. They can be easily damaged by 20-25 knot winds, but the damage is usually to the smaller cross supports. The four corner posts are much stronger and rarely get damaged so they can be easily converted to serve as awning poles.
As far as winds causing a problem where the awning is attached to the MH I’ve never had a problem with that. Most people who use awning poles retract the awnings when it’s known the winds are going to exceed 25-30 knots. Sometimes a storm can appear so quickly one doesn’t have time to retract and that’s when awning poles do their thing.

Installed the glowstep revolution steps today. Very impressed with the build quality. Had it not been for the manual slide rod being in the way it would have literally been a 15 minute job. Turned into two hours.

Thanks, so I guess adding awning poles just support better when when extended and anchored to the ground

The white poles are much more visible than the black ones they replaced. Of course, I have never bumped into the poles...that’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

Dog leash comes in handy when there is a light rain for run off. It is hooked to the ladder
I might try to engineer something better but this does work fine

Let me know if ya get something engineered to keep it up as well. I’ve had on occasion a gust of wind push it down on me a few times. Tried using heavier gas shocks but then would have to beef up the brackets. Love our outdoor kitchen, we use ours more than the inside kitchen. A new camper without an outside kitchen is a deal breaker for us.

Cross posted with tow vehicle. Ordered in a Haulgauge so I'll know what the weights are each time. Have early next week. Will post a review.
My BIL's wife made us a family name sign on a piece of slab wood, bark on the back. I thought she was going to burn it in but it is stenciled/painted. I sealed the face and edges with clear enamel. Somewhat flattened an area on the bark side and screwed on the PAW TV mount to attach it while camping. Our TT was missing the interior female section of the PAW so the exterior one was useless unless we wanted a dedicated exterior only TV or pay a princely sum for another PAW mount cast plastic for the switch out capability. I prefer my articulated arm interior TV mount.

We use ours more than the inside as well, I have not had a wind close it yet but I could see how that could happen, maybe and old school piece of wood and the dog leash. You know like what we use to hold hood of car or truck up with.

Finally opened it up and spent the first weekend of the season in it. Friday and Saturday were decent but a bit chilly. Had a nice campfire Saturday night. Then woke up to this on Sunday...

Today... aired up the Goodyear Endurance tires, changed the batteries and O-rings in my TST TPMS sensors in advance of our first trip of the season Friday.
Dewinterized this past Saturday. We had a short blast of snow yesterday but temps were right around 33° so no problem and it is gone today.
